IN today. I went complete on 2/1/11 and DR on 3/11/11. 3.1 GPA and 169. I was happy to be accepted with that GPA. No scholarship money though.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

Congrats! Are you considering LLS for the fall?

I don't want this to come off as arrogant or rude, but...

Does anyone know if Loyola will negotiate scholarships? I was hoping to use a USC acceptance as leverage for more scholarship money. I'm in Loyola with the $29K/year with the top 30% grade stipulation, and I know that's a hefty scholarship offer, but if Loyola offered me full tuition, I would very highly consider going there in the fall.

I tried and failed. I am also in at USC. The assistant dean of admission told me that the full rides are reserved for the top 1-3% of the enrolling class--it's strictly a numbers game... The 29k/yr is the max otherwise.

As much as I love Loyola. I think you should probably attend USC unless you are sure your future is in public interest or government. The law profession is extremely petty about school pedigree. It is in your best interest to play along (until you are in the position to change things).

Thanks for your advice! I am primarily interested in corporate law, so I guess school rank will really matter...

Sent my withdrawal based on today's 'Student Host.' Hopefully this frees up a slot and 29k a year for somebody else.

Just curious: What about the Student Host Program prompted you to withdraw?

Would you mind PMing me about what about the Student Host put you off Loyola? I am genuinely curious (and I know a few of the students working with it, so I could pass along feedback).

I actually am leaning more towards Loyola after the Student Host Program.

Decision rendered today. Not feeling too hopeful about my chances, but it would be great to be admitted. I have a lot of family in LA, including a number of practicing attorneys. :|

2.4/164/urm - Puerto Rican.

I'm also a non-trad, recently went back to finish my undergrad and earned a 4.0 over the last 39 credits. That's the only reason I'm holding out hope, but California loves GPA, so I'm probably out of luck.

I don't think so. Tacky is trying to sleep with the admissions dean to get off the waitlist. Of course, that's only tacky if it doesn't work.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
