If it makes you feel better, I am LSAT >75%, GPA <25% also. I submitted on October 7th. I have a 'complete' on status checker and nothing since then.

I guess they're waiting to see if there is anything better coming through the pipeline.

AWW man another one? im LSAT >75% GPA <25% too. Lol...I hope we can all get in...Loyola is my number 1 choice. Good Luck to all of us waiting...been complete since mid Jan by the by.

yeah, me too, LSAT > 75%, GPA <<25%, guess we are all on the same boat

Slightly tangent but if any of y'all with similar stats are looking to that school just up the beach for another option, I just got WL there. Applied same day as I applied to Loyola and took a similar visit/tour. No time to panic, but I'm formulating a Plan B as fast as I can. San Fran? San Diego?

Has anyone tried negotiating above 87k? From LSN, it looks like everyone from 169/3.6 to 161/3.6 got 87k.

I think ~87k is the largest scholarship they give outside of the handful of full rides they give. I doubt anyone has negotiated a higher scholly. I wish I could find the source, but I thought I read that somewhere somewhat recently...

I read this too. Someone ITT said that they called and were told that 87k is the highest scholarship besides a full ride.

Yep - this sounds right. I probably read it here haha. I also remember viewing a chart of some recent data relating to their scholarship allocations, and a VERY small number of people receive full rides (maybe 1/100 of a percent of applicants). The next notch down is the half scholly's, which is basically the rather common ~87k scholarship (a significantly larger number of applicants).

TL;DR: If you received a scholarship of ~87k, you will not be able to negotiate a higher scholarship. :(

I would think that if you got a better offer from a similarly ranked school such as USD they would at least match it.

Is there at least any anecdotal evidence suggesting this though? I guess you'd think it would work this way, but I really can't see it happening given LLS's tendencies...

Agreed. They're really particular and really specific about their scholarships. It doesn't really seem like they negotiate much.

just got 20k/per year offer from Denver (sturm).

56 v. 80

Would it be reasonable to ask loyola to match sturm?

COA at Loyola is 67882, while at Denver it is 53859. If you consider COA + scholarship, then maybe you have a case but still stretching it in my opinion.

what do you think job prospects are for USD vs Loyola? do you think, given equal scholly at both schools, you'd take loyola over USD?

I bet that the only difference is the regional strength. If you want a job in LA, go for Loyola. If you want a job in San Diego...go for USD.

If you want a job elsewhere, I'd still go for Loyola, since they are the school in the bigger market, which may beget more name recognition from out of state.

This. Except don't go to Loyola hoping for a job anywhere besides LA.

Thanks. Applied to USD/pepperdine/loyola. Haven't heard back from any of them yet (applied mid jan). Hoping at least one will offer me some $ so I could use that as leverage against loyola.
