so loyola is my top choice, and i have been complete since 12/08 with no news. how foolish would it be to write a LOCI? or contact the school some other way?
i cant afford to pay at seat deposit somewhere else while waiting for loyola to decide. any suggestions?

No, it is in the middle of the page, why?KiraMarie wrote:Where are you seeing "Decision Rendered"? In the small print at the bottom of the screen? You may write to the school and tell them what you told here.It might not work, but worth trying as it is your top choice and it is almost April....wintersm05 wrote:so loyola is my top choice, and i have been complete since 12/08 with no news. how foolish would it be to write a LOCI? or contact the school some other way?

Yeah, just tell them what's up. They will reply with a terse email, but at least you will get your decision sooner.

does anyone know how open loyola is with negotiations? I would love to get a modest scholarship from there.

You do understand that to negotiate, you have to have something to offer the other party? If you had the numbers, you would have a scholarship. But to answer your question, LLS does not negotiate.gothamm wrote:does anyone know how open loyola is with negotiations? I would love to get a modest scholarship from there.

i have received offers from similarly ranked schools. As far as my cycle goes, law schools have been liking my application so i don't think i am way out of line.

Re: Loyola LA 2011
Not being way out of line ≠ you can get them to negotiate. I had good numbers and had scholarships from similarly ranked schools but couldn't get more cash. Admittedly, this was more a function of hitting their scholarship ceiling (87k) than anything else. Perhaps it is possible to negotiate from 70 to 87, or something along those lines, but 0 to 60 is improbable.gothamm wrote:i have received offers from similarly ranked schools. Sorry to rehash this topic, but it is or it is not a hard and fast rule that LLS does not negotiate? Are y'all saying they won't negotiate w/ Gotham or won't negotiate period?
I'm gonna try b/c it would be huge if they bumped by 69k up to 87k. Gonna try and bait them w/ the WUSTL offer for 75k and mention higher COL in LA...

I think you should go with the WUSTL offer could probably get a better offer with their name behind you than Loyola's.

Re: Loyola LA 2011
not necessarily in LA. I actually talked to a WUSTL grad who works in LA on the phone the other night about this. She said it's hard to guage the value of going to school in the area you won't to be in, but that there is a definite advantage. Also, Loyola has a good rep. in LA, and I'm not wanting biglaw at all.jarofsoup wrote:I think you should go with the WUSTL offer could probably get a better offer with their name behind you than Loyola's.
Considering both pretty seriously at this point.

A decision regarding your admissions application was made on April 01, 2011. A decision letter was sent through the U.S. Mail and should reach you within seven business days of the above date.
AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! if it's a rejection, I hope they are joking...
If you've been accepted, do you get an email or something to let you know beforehand??

Same for me!! I've been waiting since early January, and pretty much decided on a different school as of last night since I hadn't heard anything from Loyola. (This better not be some poor April fool's joke...)
