For those that are going tomorrow....what are you wearing? It didn't say on the paper but I assume at least business casual?

ASD's last year were very casual. I think I wore jeans and a sweatshirt in March.

Expect it to be 85-90 degrees, but (hopefully) not inside.

Looks like we just got the announcement of tuition increase.

"Recently, correspondence was mailed to your current address relating to tuition increases for the 2011-2012 academic year for the William S. Boyd School of Law by Dean John White. In short, we expect full-time resident tuition to be increased to $23,900 per academic year and $854 per credit hour for part-time residents. Additionally, we expect nonresident full-time tuition to be increased to $34,900 and $1,246 per credit hour for part time non-residents. These rates are not final until approved by the Board of Regents which is unlikely to act until the State Legislature has passed a budget and the Governor has signed it. If you have not yet received this letter, please contact us as soon as possible so that we may provide you with a hard copy.

..."

For those of you who are already in the program, does the proposed usually match the actual? I.E. are these most likely the 'real' numbers or do you think that they will change?

As a reference here are the old tuition rates:
•Nevada resident, full-time: $20,000
•Nevada resident, part-time: $714 per credit hour
•Non-resident, full-time: $33,400
•Non-resident, part-time: $1193 per credit hour

I received that email too, but for those who received scholarships I also received an email stating that my scholarship would also be increased accordingly. This will mean that the same amount of debt will be incurred for students with partial scholarships, so some good news too.

Why would we hear after the 8th, I would have thought it would have been after the 15th.

Maybe because the 8th is when the deposit for those who have been accepted is due?

At least that is what I would assume.

I thought it was the 8th because in my acceptance packet they asked for the deposit to be mailed no later than April 1st. Assuming they grant a week for the letter to travel....it'd be about the 8th.

I received my official acceptance packet on Friday and my seat deposit due date is April 15th. Also after talking to admissions last Friday, there is not another scheduled ASD for those of us that were just admitted.

You didn't miss anything at ASD. Just took a tour and talked to students/faculty.

Did alot of admitted students attend? Anything asked or mentioned of great importance? Will you be attending UNLV in the fall?

There were maybe 30-40 people total, including SOs and a couple parents. They addressed the budget cuts and the rise in tuition, but mostly just focused on the positives of the legal community in Las Vegas and their growing alumni base. That is about it really. I just made small talk with faculty and students during the reception and took a tour. The campus is really nice. Still waiting on a two schools to get back to me that would change my mind (for personal reasons only), but otherwise I will be there. I sent in my deposit today.

Thanks for the information; perhaps we will see each other in the fall. Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

Withdrew my app this morning. Tired of playing phone tag with the admissions office. Best of luck to anyone still waiting!
