It could be...

or they could just have the wrong email or a dozen benign things.

If you do not get one in a few days I might send an email reaffirming your interest to make sure they have you correctly on file.

Dear Waitlisted Student,

As promised, it is mid-July and I am updating you on the status of our waitlist. First, let me thank you for your continued patience and interest in UCI School of Law. I realize that these weeks and months of waiting can be filled with a certain level of uncertainty. I can only hope that our willingness to engage and keep you informed has been useful as you consider your options.

We continue to monitor and prepare for what will be the third entering class at UCI Law. To date the number of confirmed students has not varied sufficiently to warrant substantial movement from our waitlist. In fact, recently I have been advising many candidates that they are being released from our waitlist. Nonetheless, I am well aware that there always remains a possibility of seats becoming available, even as late as the first day of Orientation. With this in mind as well as the merits of your candidacy, we would like you to continue your status on our waitlist. I will continue to keep you informed with another update in early August, however, if you have made other plans, don’t hesitate to let me know.

If you wish to submit additional materials to include with your existing application materials, please send it directly to me by reply email.

DTL and Gothamm-- we have very similar stats, so don't count yourselves out. I wonder how many people are left on the list??? The last I heard the list was around 100, correct?

I'd assume they would send that email out to everyone in one shot. No small envelope or email... delayed rejection or pending acceptance?

FWIW: higher GPA, lower LSAT than you guys.

I have the feeling they snail mailed out the releases since they are an official decision and then emailed those still waiting.

I'm on the waitlist and recieved the email. I've had my eyes set on UCI since day one and centered my entire application process around it. Unfortunately, my plans fell through and I'm attending law school this year (UC Hastings.)

I would give almost anything for them to accept me. I get to dream for another 3 weeks...

What does the release email say? I haven't received anything after a continued interest email in June.

It was snail mailed. They dated it for Friday and I received it Saturday. My mailing address is close to the law school, FWIW. The letter was short and straight to the point, but they did mention a few things that related to my application...

I hate to be the thread killer, but I spoke with Dean Austin, and she said that though they have not finalized the news to those remaining on the waitlist, it is unlikely that they will make additional offers, and she expects to notify all remaining candidates by week's end.

any advice for a 163/3.72 borderline-warrior trying to attend UCI law? Personal statement is in the works, plan is to have my app submitted on Oct. 1.

Any "slants" Irvine is particularly interested in that I could allude to in my resume/personal statement? Thanks everybody.
