Thanks at least I know the wait is soon over. This wait is killing me. When do you send and go complete? I sent: 1/10 and went complete: 1/20.[/quote]

Sent in 1/29 and went complete 2/3.

Dai, Congrats!! They didn't call you? I wonder if all LEOP applicants are going to have to wait via mail for a decision.

Thanks! Oh, I forgot to mention that. I did get a phone call, and it happened only an hour after I received the decision in the mail. They timed that phone call and the letter very well.

1L class this year is ~380.

my guess is that'll be how it is this year

at last year's ASD they said they wanted to keep class size between 390-400, so unless they will reduce them further (two years ago class had 475 students) it'll probably stay around 380-400

pretty much got ballpark consensus on the class size then!

will be at the ASD next weekend the 26th. Has anyone received any additional info about this, such as able to invite guest and a dress code, if any?

As far as I know most ASDs are pretty casual, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing. I just went to Tulane's ASD this weekend and there were people in khakis and blazers, and there were people in sandals and flipflops. I wore jeans, flats and a nice-ish shirt. You can almost always bring a guest, just let them know ahead of time. I haven't heard anything specific about Hastings ASD on the 26th - I'll be at the one after that!

hastings' employment numbers, to my understanding, has always been more transparent.

but yes, it looks bad compared to the other numbers...

Dammit. That window just keeps getting smaller. So much for my IBTL for admissions.

Is anyone afraid of Hasting's "ghettosness?"

Seriously though, this is a place that we have to live at or commute to for 3 years and the tenderloin district is kinda...ya know....yeah.

I actually love the area. There is some really great cheap food (Saigon sandwich, turtle tower), and as long as you don't roam the streets alone at night (just like in every big city) you shouldn't feel too threatened. There are some homeless people/druggies but they don't bother you.

Also - a lot of people don't mention the shuttle that will drive people within 1 mile of the school. I live 2 blocks further than 1 mile, so if I am coming home late at night, I definitely plan on utilizing it. You can ask them to take you to a bus stop, bart, etc.

Above's right on the money for Hastings too. If anything, you'll feel out place if you dress up too much, though I wouldn't come dressed like a total slob either. You might end up interacting with admissions/admin folks, who'll likely have some $ left over to award after ASD so making a halfway decent impression in person might even help in that regard (can't hurt).

Guests are allowed. I didn't bring one last year, but I saw a fair number of parents, significant others...Just ask admissions about this.

Ruined my day when I read that today...

The complaints have certainly not been about Hastings' inflated "graduates known to be employed at graduation" stat reported in US News (for 2009 graduates). For Hastings, that percentage is apparently 48.6%.

Davis claims that number to be 95.8%. For Cal it's 92.2%, UCLA 89.6%. Stanford's at 94.5%.

I can think of a number of conclusions to draw from these percentages. Not including that they're objectively accurate or that Hastings is obviously inflating its stats.

Hastings,

I love you, but you are asking for OOS with no $. I hope you’re just kidding, but if you’re not, just know I wanted you too.

Seriously,

PHT

Is Hastings the most expensive school in America right now? I haven't checked out HYS but over $50,000 for OOS is pretty crazy.

here's some good data for 9mo graduation... from this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=150681

Employment Sector Breakdown

T30

--ImageRemoved--

T50

--ImageRemoved--

Employment Salary Info
The first blue line is the real % of grads to be making at least the median private sector salary, which is given in parenthesis. This takes into account all unemployed grads, unknown grads, grads in the private sector with unknown salary data, and grads in the public sector. Those employed part-time are extracted from the data because the Salary data only applies to those employed Full-Time.
This information isn't extremely useful for the T15. I've primarily added it for consistency's sake. Most schools have 25th Percentile salaries equal to the median, so you can assume the majority of the red line also reaches the salary in parenthesis.

If you're afraid of it please please please go somewhere else and tell them to give me your spot. But seriously-the tenderloin is more of a crazy homeless person kind of area than a ghetto area with violent crime/gangs/etc. That would be Bayview/Hunter's Point in SF.

Went complete 01/25 and still crickets. Was hoping to hear something last week, but alas, it didn't happen. I just looked at my "complete" e-mail they sent me awhile back, and there isn't any mention of an April 1st deadline for decisions. Is it possible that Hastings will take longer than April 1st? I truly, truly hope this long wait will end in good news... I would LOVE to go here.
