UC Hastings 2011

Post by ilovesf » Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:17 am

I did not see a thread for Hastings applicants yet - so here we go!

I submitted my application Oct 20th, and still have not received confirmation that they have my application - is everyone else waiting this long as well?

Good luck!

Submitted 10-12 and then on 10-22 they e-mailed me saying they received it and the application was complete.

Admissions said it will begin reviewing apps in early December and will notify students in early January.

Just submitted my app. My applying to Hastings is based largely on its proximity to Brenda's French Soul Food, and the fact that I just got dinged at my first choice. GL to everyone else!

Ohhhh, Brenda's is SO good. Hastings is also close to Saigon Sandwich, can't forget that!

Also, I just got my application received/complete e-mail today, finally! I was starting to get worried.

Just submitted my application five minutes ago. I'm a native San Franciscan who's been on the East Coast for some time now.

I think you're cool! How has the competition been this year with other schools in the area when you (Hastings students) are looking for jobs/internships?

YAY! So glad I found a UC Hastings 2011 thread. I applied via Early Commitment so if I get in on December 15th, I'll be ecstatic! But my LSAT is low for Hastings so if I get deferred to the regular admission pool I won't be too surprised. Good luck to you all!

Love it. I'd been hanging out in the HYS topics for a week, then dipped into Hastings out of curiosity based on the fact that a lot of my students apply there, and here we go. The discussion is more, uh, mundane here. I like it. :D

I've lived in the SF Bay Area all my life, though never in SF proper, but I confess that I didn't know where UC Hastings actually was until I did a Google search just now. I see that Hastings is right by Civic Center BART, only a few blocks down from where I used to work (SF Princeton Review was near Battery and Market for a little while). Oh, and it's right by City Hall! I love driving by there, because the architecture is so gorgeous, though at night the prostitutes are rather, uh, conspicuous. I guess that might not be a downside, depending on what kind of lifestyle you want to lead as a lawyer/law student.

I think we are pretty quiet here because decisions will not even be released until January so no one is really stressing out at this point. Also, I don't hang out at Civic Center at night, so I have no idea about the prostitutes. In general, they don't bother me so I don't really consider it a downside. I go out a lot on Polk St, and there are a lot of prostitutes around there.. pretty harmless though, they have never said a word to me, but I am a girl, so maybe that's why.

I just got notified that a student of mine got into Hasting (possibly some sort of Early Decision), so I think acceptances are happening.

Don't know, but she took the June LSAT. Pretty sure she applied really freakin' early.
