No problem. Does anyone know what being placed on hold after ED means? I'm searching for information at the moment. Am I most likely out?

i was held last year after applying in mid February. From what I've seen last cycle, the hold means they will reevaluate in the future. I have seen many hold to in, holds to wl, and holds to wl to in. Just ride it out and get ready to send your LOCIs to let them know you are interested. Given your numbers I expect you to be a hold to in.

Holy ssss! Thanks for sharing, but now my work day will be completely unproductive... Well, not completely, but it will be difficult. Edit: Even though complete in Nov probably isn't going to be included in the first round :(

And thanks on WUSTL homestyle- I was stoked, but I'd be more excited for NU haha!

Do they go by complete date or by obvious outcome (auto-admit / auto-ding) first? If it's the former, I should hear today. If it's the latter, I hope I don't hear today (because I'm definitely not an auto-admit... ).

Curious, ED'ers who got in... did you submit an LOR, a CPE, both or none of the above? Congrats again!

I have no idea, I'd love to hear some input on this! That was just my guess lol... If I hear today I will die, we're having a huge my bday/holiday party this eve. It could be the best celebration ever or the let-me-not-remember-earlier-today kind of night...

Does anyone know what the pattern for RD applications has been in the past? Is the first batch of acceptances generally just people who applied in Sept./Oct? I'm complete early Nov....don't want to get my hopes up if there is no chance I'll hear yet!

I think they operate on a strict rolling admissions for RD, so first come first serve, I assume the put apps into batches of some sort (i.e. received by 10/15, etc). I think people will here all sorts of news: in, out, hold.

edit: for bad typing

From the Northwestern 2010 thread:
Looks like this year is moving a lot earlier than last:

-Last year's ED's started finding out on 12/22.

-RD first batch was 1/13 ish and the first response went complete in Oct, many had high #'s.
-Next RD batch was 1/22.

...and I'm tired of scrolling in that thread.

Damn, did not expect this so soon. How do they notify? Email?

Edit: For RD.
