I would consider myself a pretty big splitter for Temple (lsat<<<25%, gpa>>75%) and I was accepted FT day division. In state, havent received the packet indicating scholarships yet but not counting on anything. Still, I agree with you that with such low in state tuition, no scholarship is certainly not a deal breaker.

you are a reverse splitter, but that is still surprising. actually though, for many, no scholarship is a deal breaker. Paying sticker at temple leaves you at over 100k in debt. If temple had more money to give out scholarships, their numbers would be significantly better, thus putting them into T1 rankings wise and attracting even more OOS candidates. If you are set on philly then its not a deal breaker.

and yeah, the general consensus is that there are two complete dates before decisions. Mine were 1/5 and 1/28.

I sent a letter request additional scholarships last week.

I wrote a formal letter, emailed it and mailed it to them.

Long time stalker, first time poster - I apologize in advance if any of my questions have been answered before, there are so many post to sift through and it's easy to miss something.

About how long after people went into a second complete did it take for you to receive a decision? I don't recall the first complete but the second one was 1/31

I think my second complete was on a Friday and I was in via status checker the following Monday. Regardless, it was pretty quick.

So then 2 weeks is probably a bad omen...

I would not call it a bad omen. People read into the wait time far too much. You don't know what is going on in temple's admissions office or how they review apps. I speak from experience as I waited almost three months from my application being complete to my admission via status checker. Don't assume anything.

Not at all-- my second complete was 12/10, and I was accepted 2 MONTHS later on 2/14 with no updates or news of any kind in between. Don't worry!

If I were to attend Temple I would certainly anticipate staying in Philly, which I think is the case for the majority of students. You dont go to Temple expecting to get a job in CA or even NYC. I'm totally fine with that, though. I'm from Philly, my entire family is there, and I like the area. Philly/SE PA/DEL is infested with Temple grads and the school is very highly regarded in the area. My friends who are grads of Temple law from a couple years back say those connections def. helped them land jobs.

Paying sticker is still okay for me. Tuition for PAers is less than $18000/year. I currently live in Philly and rent/col is no big deal, and with family so close things are always cheaper (laundry, food, gas, etc.). The school is def. most attractive to in-staters, but is still a good pick if your heart is set on working in Philly/SE PA

I don't think it would be horrible if it's one's best option and that person were a PA resident. It is the best option for Philly/ SE PA if one couldn't get into Penn, and a huge amount of people who even have Penn numbers won't get into Penn. I personally wouldn't be paying much more than tuition anyway, so even at sticker it's very doable as tuition is only like $17,566+fees.

EDIT:: BTW, is kk19131 a reference to a zip code? I know from previous posts you're from PA and I know that's the zip of West Philly/Overbrook... sorry to creep, just curious

People on Earth also smoke 2 packs of cigarettes per day... and that's not a good idea either.

Paying in-state sticker at Temple isn't so terrible. Much better that than a full-price private/OOS T30.

Temple tends to be rather stingy with money, but I would negotiate as much as I could for scholarships... even in-state.

Sure, it's not overly expensive, but it's still $18,000 + books + Cost of living.... $40,000!

Ha, this so isn't about me.

But, I will say that I would never pay 40k/ year to go to Temple.
