Good luck! I know you've been waiting forever - like me. Keep in mind I have no clue what I'm talking about. After reading back a few pages it seems like they still have a lot of deciding to do!oreo3405 wrote: I hope not because im still waiting haha. Being a Philly resident, id rather attend Temple then Rutgers-C, especially at the price point too. They requested my grades and why i want to go PT to gather some more information i suppose. ugh. lolJustathought wrote:Good luck! I know you've been waiting forever - like me. Re: Temple 2011
I was considering RU-Newark, along with a few other schools, up until today. I'm really excited about Temple; it seems to offer really strong prospects in a big market, and the cost is reasonable. I think I'll be headed there unless something really appealing comes from out of left field. Plus, my family has a house in PA, so I'm going to do everything I can to establish residency - at least for 2L onward.oreo3405 wrote:Being a Philly resident, id rather attend Temple then Rutgers-C, especially at the price point too. Oof. I did that earlier in the cycle sending an e-mail to Columbia talking about how I sent my application in to Penn. Needless to say I'm not in at either hahars2004 wrote:i actually did that in reverse, i sent a temple related email to pitt.dreakol wrote:I just sent Temple an email asking for additional merit aid.

Still stuck on my first complete 2/7. I called the office and they just told me that it takes 8-10 weeks so I should have a decision soon. WTF? I am going to have to send in a seat deposit to another school. This is bullshit.

Yeah, not so much. I think it is just time to admit to myself that I am staying in NYC and going to Fordham. At this point I doubt Temple is going to match my aid anyway and I believe my job prospects are better going to Fordham. I just really wanted out of NYC.Justathought wrote:Been there, done that. I am going to assume you have not spent the last 13 years in NYC. Trust me, it looks better from the outside than it really is. The first year or so is pretty fun, but it goes downhill pretty quickly.Justathought wrote:Serious question: Would you be willing to switch identities with me?akcorps wrote:Yeah, not so much. I've lived here all my life. I was born within walking distance of Fordham Law. What can I say, I like the place!akcorps wrote: I am going to assume you have not spent the last 13 years in NYC. Re: Temple 2011
i feel really bad for parents with young kids in nyc. i had to take tests just to get into junior high and high school, which really sucked since i didn't know what school i would ultimately get into. now second graders are experiencing the same angst with this crazy charter school lottery system.Justathought wrote:I've lived here all my life. Re: Temple 2011
If you live in Center city, and change your car registration to Philadelphia, you can apply for a residential parking pass, and park on the city streets (at metered spots) with the parking pass. I got mine and it was $65 for the first year, and I think $45 for every year after that. So not bad at all. To get the pass you need your lease, an update license with your new address, and a copy of your car registration registered to you new address.jwjbaek wrote:anyone know what time the subway lines close? do most people have cars? i'll probably end up living in center city and parking is so expensive...(~$250/month)
You will probably never drive you car to Temple. No need with your location in CC. Take the broad street line to temple (Cecil B. Moore) (10 min train ride nice safe subway). The last train on weekdays from Cecil B. to CC is typically between midnight and 12:30.
buy the tokens $1.50 each, don't get the pass, don't get the cards. Its a waste of money, even the Temple reduced cost one. Do the math, you'll see buying the tokens costs so much less in the long run.
