Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
It seems like a few weeks ago, if you got in (and called) they will tell you. Whereas if you did not get in (and called), they would tell you to wait for the regular mail.
Has anyone called recently (March 1, 2011 and later) and found out that they got in?
IR since 12/1....the wait is pure agony.

I'm bitter as hell, but that was just pointless. I still want everyone else to get in because it is a great school and I have no hard feelings for those that earned their spot at UW. No need to get snarky, ffonsok.

No. They only told people from the 2/15 batch that got screwed up... and even then they didn't start doing it until around 2/28. I was in that batch and I just got my packet last night... postmarked as 3/2.ghjuio wrote:It seems like a few weeks ago, if you got in (and called) they will tell you. It's been just over a quarter of a year of a year since I submitted my application. AGH. I am going up to visit L&C during March, and afterwards will be checking out UW. Inevitably, this is when I'll find out they've dinged/waitlisted me.

Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
Just an update:
I'm a 2/17, with a decision date of 2/28, and just received a phone call from a professor congratulating me on my admission... I never got a letter and I'm in-state. This wasn't a "I wanted you to know you are admitted" it's a "Congrats, I'm calling in case you have questions and / or need advice" call.

Hah I just got one of those calls too. It sounds like the left hand not talking to the right since I have already received my packet. I wonder if the professor even knew that you were just finding out...kineticx wrote:Just an update:

My husband was accepted to the graduate program with a generous assistantship, so now we're going to Seattle no matter what I hear from UW. So stressed out!!! Take pity on me, UW...

FWIW I got a response today to my Friday LOCI/consider me on the waitlist. I am asking the lady if a visit would be beneficial to getting off the WL at all... I'll let yall know! I really would like to visit but I'm trying to get a handle on the cost/benefit of it, since I have very limited time off work and $ to fly to the PNW

I had given up checking, but DLS sent 3/1 - I'm home for spring break so I won't see it for a while, unless I can think of someone who is still in town to get my mail..

Sorry for the double post:
I was told that the committee does not hear of anyone that visits, but you can send an updated LOCI about your visit/experiences and it will be added to your file... HTH someone besides me!

Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
Probably not. I hate not to go anywhere, but I was hoping they would offer me more money than they did. I'm not too thrilled about the idea of going there and paying their ridiculous tuition and still not being able to get a job. Not to mention, we don't plan to stay in the state of Washington after we graduate so I need to go somewhere that is less regional than SU. I'm thinking I could reapply to UW next year after I have residency and hope for the best.deja wrote:Good luck - we'll keep fingers crossed for you too!
