I don't know anything. People before were saying that the Gates public service scholarship was the only financial aid (I only skimmed it--I might be remembering incorrectly), but their financial aid page seems to imply that there are merit/financial-need based awards as well for people not interested in public service.

I would love to live in the Northwest. One advantage of UW (in my opinion) is that it's actually the best school in the region--it seems like everywhere else there is always a better school (that I don't stand a chance at getting into). I talked to the dean of admissions for UW at a law fair and he gave me the impression that UW really cares about it students and tries to help them succeed. He took the time to send me an e-mail to some follow up questions I had. I've sent questions to a couple other similarly and better-ranked law schools and didn't hear anything back from them. I think that says a lot about the school, personally, but that's just my take.

I hope this is good news for all of you who have had this happen. Mine still says in review, but it would be nice for them to start making some offers so the rest of us can know what to expect this cycle.

In! Got my acceptance packet in the mail today. I'm currently living on an island right outside of Seattle. Btw, my status "disappeared" a few days ago, so maybe this is good news for the others who had theirs disappear as well.

When did you go complete?

I'm not sure as I never got a 'complete' email, though my app was received on 10/7.

Krad - I was "Awaiting CAS Report" for 3 weeks, emailed them to see if there was anything wrong and the next day I was "Complete - ready for review". If you're concerned, you may want to do the same.

I got it too… it's a little bit late though. One of the requirements is two LOR specifically on your community service experience. Because they want them sent with the rest of your materials, it would be just over a week for someone to write one. Darn, I wish I saw this sooner.

fuck. seriously? I just got that email and thought 'wow, I definitely need to do this.' Why the hell would they send out reminder emails this late if you need two volunteer-specific LORs?
