How many of you are local Seattlites and deposited at SU as your back up?

I am admitted at SU with a Presidential Scholarship. I am having a really hard time figuring out if it's worth accepting if UW doesn't take me off the waitlist. I'm petrified of debt and poor job prospects. Also, SU put a top 25% stipulation on the award. Not cool.

My deposit is due May 18th. I was admitted late.

Over the weekend, I considered calling Mathiew today about the waitlist. I might hold off though

They know nothing yet?? as in....they don't know how many spots are available for WL people?? or...they don't know what?? At least, "oh, we're reviewing WL ppl now. Or oh we're getting close to this or that"...some kind of time frame would've been nice. This waiting for indefinitely period of time is really getting to me!! Just a little frustrated that they just string people along for a ride, only to reject in the end :( hmph.

I too sent Mathiew an email requesting information on timeline, numbers and so on. He said the same thing to me: he isn't sure yet of anything, but will try to let everyone know soon.

I also sent an email yesterday to specifically ask if they had their incoming class filled up or would be going to the wait list, and.....wait for it.....I didn't get a reply.

This does not look good, will I see any of you at SU or will you wait a year or...what's the back up plan?

If things with UW dont work out then you will find me at Seattle U. It is still a great school in the Seattle legal market.

Don't want to be pessimistic, but it doesn't sound good if they are saying they have no info yet. Let's hope some spots opened up.

Is anyone that put a deposit down for SU starting this summer?

Also sent an email and haven't received a reply yet, maybe they're just busy, or they could be preparing to give out some bad news. I hate to speculate, but I hope we get some answers soon.

I don't think this lack of information tells us anything at this point. The first deposit was due recently and presumably some people didn't pay up. We don't know the numbers. Even if there are many spots now open, they are going to take their time to fill them with whomever they choose. What is the rush from their point of view? They know many people are dying to get taken off the waitlist.

Also, there is still unfortunately a lot more time before classes start. So many people might fall off the accepted list throughout the summer.

Or, of course, they have no spots for wailisted candidates now or in the future. But we can't know that yet.

Well I haven't sent anything since the WL a few months ago and I just got an e-mail from Lee asking me to reply with yes/no on wanting to be still considered. So I guess they're not dead there.

Anyone else get an email today asking if you were still interested in a spot off the waitlist? Sounds like there may be some spots available after all.

E: Haha, I guess at least one of you did.

48 hours!?! What does that exactly mean? You have to put down a deposit within 24hrs, or double promise to attend?

I'm assuming it's a 'good faith' type thing where if you say you're attending they start looking for your deposit in the mail.

Did you send in a LOCI or let them know you want to remain on WL or just not reply at all?

Me too, here's hoping this is just the first round of emails/calls going out. Weird though that they only emailed some people on the waitlist to see if they were still interested...

Yeah and I never sent any reply to the original WL letter (no LOCI or anything). Maybe they're only sending out emails to people they haven't heard from.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
