This is true, my good friend was WL at nova in late march and was accepted a week later. She did decide to accept their offer.mt1042 wrote:I too was accepted off of the wait-list, I think you were given inaccurate information.save the world wrote:DD352 wrote:Accepted off the waitlist.
Received an email telling me to check my online status. Said they mailed a letter to my house as well.
Hmm I just spoke to the admissions office and they said they haven't touched the WL and won't until mid to end of May.

Did you enjoy it? Was it more difficult than you expected? Any tips?beach_terror wrote:1L officially over for about 1/4 of the 1L class. If you guys have any questions, feel free to pm or post here. I might go over and troll the 2014 thread to help there too, someone link me if you can.

Overall, I'd say I enjoyed it. I love the new building. It being new and flashy makes it more tolerable to be in 14 hours a day.Bless wrote:Did you enjoy it? Was it more difficult than you expected? 1L was about what I expected. There are a lot of smart people at Villanova who work their asses off, so be prepared to put your hours in. The material isn't intellectually difficult, it's just takes awhile to figure out how to apply it in the right way.
Tips: stay up on your work, start practice exams early so you can figure out application, and hope you get Ravenell for Civ Pro

RA'ing with a professor. I got a screener and a callback for 1L SA gig, but ended up getting rejected. RA'ing was my next choice but there was a lot of radio silence between the SA stuff and locking down the RA gig.kk19131 wrote:What are you doing with your summer?

anyone else out there still "in review" or know what it means to still have no decision at this point? is this just their way of making a waitlist and being able to accept/reject without affecting their numbers?

Yes, they said they were hoping to have all the decisions out "soon." I have been getting the same answer for over a month when I call now. Anyone know a specific person I should contact in the admissions office?

anyone still awaiting a regular decision from here? XMFD
apply in early january and don't get a decision until after most other school's 2nd deposit dates. They must employ a bunch of fucking jokesters at this school.

I got the same email yesterday telling me I am still on the waitlist, I would guess we'll hear around mid to late July. I wonder if they anticipate being forced to accept students with lower numbers this year because of their scandal and fall in the rankings thus are being cautious of simply rejecting anyone.

Rumor from admissions is that we're not going to be admitting those with lower numbers. Instead, we're going to opt for a smaller class size for the incoming 1L class.blahman72 wrote:I got the same email yesterday telling me I am still on the waitlist, I would guess we'll hear around mid to late July. Re: Villanova 2011
If that is true I would be shocked. I can't imagine a school that recently built a huge new law building would sacrifice so much money with a smaller class. But we will see.beach_terror wrote:Rumor from admissions is that we're not going to be admitting those with lower numbers. I could see that being a step they take to help mitigate the damage from last year. I know Albany, for instance, decreased their class size. I imagine there's other schools doing this as well?

I think they're wrapping up your class this week, because they're supposed to send out scholarship info for rising 2Ls next week.msridiculous447 wrote:My friend (who was admitted early this year) recently got get scholarship bumped from ~75k to a full ride....so you may very well be right.beach_terror wrote:Yeah probably. Do they change scholarship offers from year to year... depending on how well people do?
