Hey Chuff, this is an awesome distraction from tedious Fed Tax problems, though I doubt I'll get them all done by 11 o clock class now

I hope you are being serious. Yes, there are black folks in classes. I am a minority and the surprising thing about VLS is that all the minority groups like APALSA, BLASA, even Latin American groups all hang out together rather than just isolate each other. HOWEVER, I've noticed some ignorant individuals who expect you to hang out with them just because you are of the same race.

Yes, I'm serious. Apparently there are only 6 black males in the school and 9 females (out of 754 people), so I wanted to know how visible that whopping 2% of the student body is.

There's no way that statistic is true. I personally know 5 black males in the 1L class.

Yeah, there aren't that many but I can always see them. So if visibility is your question, yes, you see them.

And, actually, the data seem to suggest that all the Black males are 1Ls. Maybe that's why you know 5 of them...?
I am personally friends with 4 of them. I'm not sure why # of Black students is so important to you.

20 Asian Americans for 1Ls? LOL There's no way there are 20 of them.

It's important to me because I'm a black person. And let's face it, nobody want's to be in a place where no one looks like he does.

I understand that because I am a minority as well. But if you are worried about any type of implicit racism or discrimination/vibe, I wouldn't worry to much.

I went to UVa for undergrad which was also known to be really white and experienced all sorts of bullshit because of my skin. Fortunately and surprisingly, VLS has a completely opposite vibe. The dean is a minority for christ sake. Everyone's really friendly so far.

Don't worry about not being able to associate with other black students. BLASA literally came after my black friends here to reach out more.

What do you mean by "travel assistance?" Like paying for your flight to visit/attend?

I'm getting in that friday afternoon. I certainly hope others are coming, otherwise my options are 1.) getting plowed by myself in a hotel bar or 2.) getting plowed by myself in a villanova bar.

Both sound equally distasteful.

I'm getting in Friday too and I think that sounds like an awesome plan. Distasteful? Perhaps. Fun? No question.
