Received my letter just now, preferred waitlist. Man, so this basically means there is still a chance I wouldn't be offered a seat huh. Ugh I'd give my left nut to go here...

I wish my home state had more than one T14 school and a few TTT

not that simple unfortunately. I've already deferred a cycle because of my lsat and i've already paid my dues with that godforsaken test by taking it 4 times. Only other option would be to wait a couple years with some work exp and apply then when my not so great gpa doesn't matter as much, but i need to get the ball rolling right now.

In today but likely withdrawing soon. Not sure if I can stomach the OOS sticker debt burden.

I decided to apply today, although I'm not really expecting to get accepted. My LSAT is a little lower than what they usually look for (combined with the fact that it's really late in the game..) but I decided it couldn't hurt to give it a shot. Congrats to everyone who's already gotten accepted and good luck to those still waiting.

does anyone have any knowledge on last cycle's fate with preferred waitlist folks? Will they all at least get a chance at admission eventually you think? I know the letter says "most commonly, all" but I'm wondering if I should feel pretty likely to get accepted or w/e.

I feel confident with a solo visit to the school, I will get accepted. I thought the language they used in the preferred waitlist letter was very strong. I guess now it's a matter of finding out if I can get in-state residency after year one. I would go as a PT student, so I would secure full-time employment in MD, and I'd only go there if I intended on living in the area anyway. I need 100% confirmation before I make my decision.

Omg, I got in! I probably can't afford it, but I really did not think I'd get an acceptance here. I'm so happy!

It is just to help their selectivity ranking. You will most likely be dinged. Save your $12. Plus you will not get any scholarship money.

not necessarily true-- I have a 157/3.95, OOS and applied on fee waiver, and I'm white and part Cuban (semi-URM) with great softs. Got offered an interview for the leadership scholarship, but I turned it down and withdrew. If you have URM status/good softs/great application you have a good shot.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
