Why why do you torture us by sending it on Thursday, decent chance it won't get here till Monday! Or just send an email letting us know! Still hopeful!

FT here.

And I just realized that Monday is a holiday for the USPS. Looking like it'll be Tuesday before we hear back.

Got that email around 10. I'm supposed to visit on Wed but thinking of withdrawing. They told me that if I wanted merit aid that I would have to send a letter explaining why and the level of interest I had for Maryland. Don't know if that's even worth doing b/c prob won't get a lot of money. Early in the process I really liked Maryland but I don't like their admissions staff and the experience has turned me off. I'll prob take my full ride to Tennessee.

Got the WL letter in the mail this morning with a form asking me to stay on the WL or withdraw. I'm outside Philly, mailed on Thursday 2/17. Probably going to withdraw. Not much interest in UMD anyway. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I got waitlisted too. I'm going to wait it out. I really like UMD.

By far the biggest turn off is having to wait until the end of May at the earliest to hear anything. If they started to look at their WL in March, then maybe. But May is too late in the game

Does Maryland give out any money? I have seen 2 people here who got some money, and 0 on LSN.

What am I missing? Do they give out money later in the cycle?

When I emailed them, they suggested that I write them a brief essay as to why I should be considered for a scholarship.

I think they give out a handful of "leadership" scholarships that you get an invite for with acceptance, but that's really it.

When I emailed them they had me call them to tell me to write an essay as to why I should be considered for the scholarship. They just wasted my time. If they're gonna pull shit like that it's pretty obvious that Maryland's not the type of school people want to go to.

Sitting in on the Maryland chat right now.....I'm kind of frustrated that they always seem dodgy about questions.

Went ahead and withdrew just now as I have finally decided I'm not that interested. Hopefully I free up a spot for a TLSer at the Leadership Scholars Interviews! Good luck everyone with your decisions!

a very, very dodgy chat session just now. i liked what i heard, but ultimately i didn't learn much. scholarships seem scarce, and the jd/mba program i'm vying for seems to be quite a bitch with law classes in baltimore and business classes at college park. not sure how i feel about this place.

also something funny i just remembered from the chat session: one of the current students said she was deciding between northwestern, gw, and maryland and ultimately chose maryland because she liked the people there. either that speaks volumes about the maryland law community or she got a giant scholarship. i'd guess scholarship.

The leadership scholars endowment doesn't seem very big, which makes me feel like, if I didn't get the interview offer near to when I received an admission notification, it probably isn't coming, despite offers being made 'through the summer.'

This is ultimately why I decided not to go there.....every time I went to one of the chats I just felt like some information was being withheld, and I really didn't like the idea of living in Baltimore. Compared to my other options like Washington, D.C., or Chapel Hill, N.C., and possibly Charlottesville, V.A., I think Baltimore sounds not so hot.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
