that's a whole month ahead of me so i probably have a lot of waiting left to do. goodluck tho! did they email you or did you just randomly decide to check your status?

I checked my status, but I didn't get an email. The check was more of obsessive than random though.

AH! I did TOO!!!! Except for it still shows me as being "In Committee," but my mailing shows "Decision Letter Sent."

also decision letter sent 12/14, but my status is still in committee...What does this mean? Could it be a rejection?

Santa Clara is one of the top three schools I'm looking at. It places well in my home town, it's close to my family up north, and it's a beautiful campus.

It seems like a majority of those people getting decisions had this for a few days before it switched over to their admission/deferral status. It's just a waiting game now.

This is completely normal. They do not update your status checker to your decision until the letter has been received (how they know this I'm not sure). So, now it really is just a waiting game and this does not indicate that you have been rejected or admitted or anything. Unfortunately, you just need to sit by your mailbox... GOOD LUCK!!

Although it seems like mine said admitted long before the letter was sent out (I assume... I live pretty close to the campus and it definitely took more than three days for me to get the actual paperwork).

It doesn't really seem like the adcoms run on any kind of set pattern.

the "decision" status occurs after the admissions committee has made a decision on your application. after the decision is made, the letters have to be addressed, signed, stuffed, etc, and then they are mailed out. this usually takes a couple of days. so, it looks like you can expect to get a letter in the mail about a week or so after the "decision" status. if admitted, your status will then change also (around) a week or so after. i talked to the scu admissions office for this info. they are quite nice.

So, how many EA individuals got- "Defer to Regular Admission"? I'm just curious. I went on past threads for people who had been pushed to regular admission and it appears that they tend to grant only PT status or place you on the wait-list for something to free up on the FT, unless they flat out reject you the second time around. It's definitely disappointing since Santa Clara would be such a phenomenal school to attend. However, I knew it was a reach to gain acceptance. Still crossing my fingers. Do you think a visit to the campus and a quick meeting with someone in admissions would help? I have already added an additional "Evaluation" but I think I might also add an additional LOR.

It seems like most of the EA deferrals turn into waitlists. From LSN this seems to be the case. 3.0/160 is the magic number to get in without hassle for FT.

Has anyone (EA especially) been rejected yet?

Looking at LSN it looks like at least one rejection has been sent out, and it was for an EA.

For anyone who has gotten in, would you mind telling me how much merit aid you were offered given your numbers?
