Question to all: How long did it take your status to change to "A decision has been made" from "Your application is in review"? My status checker went from "Your application is complete" to "Your application is in review" today. Just wondering how long I'm likely to wait.

Term: Fall Year: 2011
Program Time: Full-time Degree: JD

Current Status: A decision has been made
Current Status Date: 12/22/2010
Decision Status: A decision has been made
Decision Status Date: 12/22/2010

that is what it says on mine, however there is no deposit, immunization information, however I am above the median. Does this mean i was most likely rejected or accepted? has anyone been rejected yet?

Mine says the exact same thing (except for the dates), and I was accepted. Nobody on LSN has posted anything about being denied, so take that for what its worth. And everyone there has received a scholarship, although they have begun handing out the smaller ones.

Good luck!!

For those of you who just received decisions, when did your status go to "Your application is in review?"

I submitted my application around December 7, it went in review around the 10 or 11, and the letter was sent on the 22.

My status checker has said "your application is complete" for over a month. Has anyone else been waiting this long to go to "your application is under review"?

The status checker page says on the top that my application is "currently ready for review or in review with the Admissions Committee," but this isn't reassuring when others seem to be getting much more frequent updates.

Mine went "under review" a day after it went "complete." It's hard to read much into these kind of things though.

I figured as much. It seems like they are just making quick decisions on the auto-admits and making all the toss-ups sweat it out a bit longer.

I live in the dorms right now. I wouldn't consider them "on campus" though. I know a few people who make the walk, but mostly people drive/take the bus/take the shuttle. They are more like real apartments then a dorm room, but we do have searches (they tell you ahead of time when they are coming). If you arn't from the area, the dorms are a good way to not have to make a trip out to find an apartment and to meet people. That said, there is definitely cheaper options available.

I was entirely confident about keeping my scholarship (top 50%) before I came to St. John's, because I thought having a high LSAT (175) would make it unlikely I would do poorly. My very first legal writing assignment I got below median, and thats pretty much when the panic set in. Most people I have met at St. John's also have full rides, or at least half scholarships. We arn't all going to keep our scholarships. All the 2L's I hang out with lost their scholarships after 1L. The threat of having to take on 100k extra debt or drop out of law school has added a LOT of stress to an already stressful time. I really love the school and the people I have met here, but I don't think it is a good decision to come here for full price.

So you think I should try to haggle out of my top 40% stipulation?

Might as well try to get it to at least top 50%, though I don't know if they change the stipulations for people. I wouldn't feel comfortable right now waiting for my first semester grades if I had to to be top 40%, though it might not seem like much of a difference.

Do you know what the "good academic standing" requirement means exactly? Does it mean "just dont fail out", or is it like a 2.5 GPA requirement? My scholarship does not require the top 50%.

Looking at the student handbook, it seems "good academic standing" means a student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.1.

I would seriously consider attending if you have a full ride. Especially if the alternative is a similarly ranked school but with less or no money. I am a 2L, so if you have any questions, ask away!

Bball 700 I have similar numbers and I was wondering a few things: 1st are you an unrepresented minority? 2nd was your personal statement anything crazy? 3rd when did you apply? And 4th were there any stipulations with your scholarship? Thanks in advanced! ;)

Got my decision letter while I was away. Decision made 12/9, 164 LSAT and 3.43 GPA. Full scholarship. Will look into visiting and checking it out, but will see where else I get in and if I get money anywhere else before making any decisions.
