I'm working on the merit based scholarship email. I've gotten full rides at a few other schools as well as one higher ranked than Georgetown. Does anyone have any advice on what they talked about in their email/how long the email was?

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
Sorry to bring this back from a couple of pages ago, but I just got around to reading my scholarship letter (got it on Thursday in the mail). It says (I got $10k a year):jfb wrote:Yea, that has been my understanding of how it works, I guess the wording in there just threw me off a bit. RC was never my strength...coug11 wrote:No, because the need-based aid is from a different department with a different budget. The scholarship is 10000 from the office of admissions, then you'll get need-based grants (hopefully) from the office of financial aid about 2 weeks after you turn in the Yellow Form (according to the admitted students weekend).jfb wrote:Alright, I know this was discussed previously, but I would like to mention it again for my own clarity. So this is in my award letter: "Your scholarship, in combination with any need-based grants you may receive or have received from Georgetown, is for $10,000.00 for each of three years of study here at the Law Center. "
Doesn't that seem to mean that even with need grants, the total amount will not exceed 10000?? Am I reading this wrong?
"Please note that if you qualify through the Office of Financial Aid for a need-based grant of more than $10,000.00, you will receive that higher amount."
It appears that any need-based grants I get would replace part (or all) of the merit based scholarship, unless I'm reading that wrong.

For some reason my 8-digit LSAC number sometimes doesn't work when I try to get "my credentials." Now I'm locked out of my account.

A. Did everyone who got scholly offers receive them snail mail?
B. Did anyone who sent in a request or comparable offers not get anything yet?
I'm on spring break and no one's at my apt to get the mail I sent in offers from Duke and Fordham a few weeks ago.

I got mine via snail mail, but only after the email. I think they mail out the letter after sending you the email.LegallyBlonde923 wrote:A. Did everyone who got scholly offers receive them snail mail?

I'm curious about this as well..FutureInLaw wrote:I'm trying to finish the Yellow Form, and I'm faced with this Title IV Authorization. I don't know much about it.
Thoughts? It's basically asking if I want loans to pay for things like insurance, food, library fines? Pros? Cons?
Thanks.

By the by, my plans changed and I can now attend the ASW in a couple of weeks. Hooray! Anyone else going? I requested a student host and am hoping to be able to stay near GULC.

Not going to be able to make the ASW, but I visited recently and just want to say that I am pumped about the school.

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
Well, if they come close to matching my scholarship at Vandy ($50,000), Penn and Northwestern don't give me anything meaningful, and I don't get into any of my remaining schools (Michigan, NYU, Chicago, Duke), then yes, I will go to GULC. Haha, that sounds like a lot of conditionals, but it's all very likely, I think.

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
Merit scholarship question.
Is it correct to say that in order to get merit money at gulc you also need to have a financial need as demonstrated by the fafsa?
What if there is no financial need? Can you still get merit money? Several schools have me merit money without financial consideration. Gulc does not do this, correct?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
