Will someone post in here when the new yellow form is ready? Should be any day now...

How was the weekend everyone? Wish I could've been there!!
Thinking of flying back to the States for my spring break (late march, early April- handy, right?) to visit home and see some schools

I heard "end of February" at the ASW event. Not a good sign.Arbiter213 wrote:Will someone post in here when the new yellow form is ready? Should be any day now...

They also said that once they have all of the paperwork in it usually takes them only a few weeks to get back to you with a need-based offer package.bdubs wrote:I heard "end of February" at the ASW event. If we've done FAFSA and Need Access, is this mystical yellow form the only thing left to do?

Yes, I think so. I asked if there was anything else in an e-mail to them and they didn't say that there was.LegallyBlonde923 wrote:If we've done FAFSA and Need Access, is this mystical yellow form the only thing left to do?

So, talked to the admissions office about scholarship stuff. It sounds like they haven't even figured out what the process will be for merit scholarships.
I got my name on a list for being notified about the process, but they don't think they'll have any information out for a couple weeks.

Packet in the mail today. In it was a booklet called "The Work of Justice" and its faculty guide. Impressive faculty! This was the largest thing I have received from GULC so far...

Same here. Sort of confused that's what they decided to send, but ok.coug11 wrote:Packet in the mail today. In it was a booklet called "The Work of Justice" and its faculty guide. Impressive faculty! This was the largest thing I have received from GULC so far...

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
I'm glad they sent it, the one thing I was upset about this weekend was the lack of professor interaction. At the dinner I was able to speak with one or two, but not nearly enough for my liking.
On a side note:
For those of you who attended last weekend, were you surprised with the intense focus on public interest? I know the alumni panel was comprised of two private attorneys, one public interest, and one non-law...but it just seemed like most of the questions and student discussions were about public interest.
Furthermore, were they successful in persuading you to attend in the fall? From the prospects I asked, the main response was: "I'm waiting to hear back from NYU/Columbia."

WARNING: This may be a v. dumb question. But as someone contemplating attending the scum of the TTT14, I feel no shame in revealing my lack of intelligence here.
I just went on the admitted students website again to see when the next ASW is, and I was directed to generate a Georgetown NetID and password. What is this useful for prior to enrollment? Or, does Gtown think that I've already sent in a deposit?

Anyone have any info on what sorts of need based grants they actually give out? I'm sort of praying for something so I can actually justify attending.

30% of the incoming class gets a need based grant, and grants range from $2,000 to $25,000*.Arbiter213 wrote:Anyone have any info on what sorts of need based grants they actually give out? I'm sort of praying for something so I can actually justify attending.
*I think $25,000 was the high value given to us at asw but i'm not 100% sure. if anyone else remembers differently please post it!

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
That was the main response I heard from people as well... I believed some stereotypes of GULC from TLS that, in my experience there, were not true at all (about gunners, lack of professor interaction with students, etc.) I also sat in on the Legal Research and Writing class, which was the class I feared the most, and I absolutely loved the professor and the content of the class. So, I would say that they were persuasive in at least putting GULC higher on my list than Vandy and Texas, which are my other two options right now.InvictusFortis wrote:I'm glad they sent it, the one thing I was upset about this weekend was the lack of professor interaction. I was able to do the same thing... It does not mean that you've already sent out your deposit. This is where your financial aid will be posted, as well as the loans that you receive.amkid100 wrote:WARNING: This may be a v. dumb question. Are grants in addition to merit based? Or if you get one does it preclude you from the other?

You can get both but it will never go over the cost of attendance. For instance, a full merit scholarship would mean no grants

haven't gotten my package yet... haven't gotten anything from GT since I was accepted, so they keep dropping off of my radar.
