IN at GULC c/o 2014
I thought I'd start a thread for those of us who are accepted so we can discuss things without rubbing it in the noses of those who have been accepted (YET!). It looks like the first big wave is out so there should be a few of us.
I heard this morning (I'm in Vietnam, my parents got the letter in FL, so Saturday there), totally ecstatic.
Did everybody in this first round get a personal note? Does that continue throughout the cycle or is it only for early acceptances?
Does anybody know when the admitted students website goes live?

Also accepted recently with a personal note. I would be very impressed if they kept that up once the volume of applications increases.
Not sure when the admitted students website goes live. Anyone else thinking about visiting for the January 27-28 ASW?

It seems like last year they kept up note writing the whole time. As far ASW, Georgetown doesnt offer a stipend and they dont make scholarship offers until really late so I am going to see how the rest of my cycle works out before I commit to making a visit.leopardRAWR wrote:Also accepted recently with a personal note. Georgetown is fairly high up on my list and a big factor in whether or not I can seriously consider attending Georgetown is if I feel like I can handle 3 years of the weather. Yes, I know the winters there supposedly aren't that bad but I've never lived anywhere with actual winter. I feel a late January weekend is a good test run for if the weather would be bearable or not.

My parents just scanned the acceptance letter for me -- apparently the admitted students website will go live in late December.leopardRAWR wrote:Also accepted recently with a personal note. I would be very impressed if they kept that up once the volume of applications increases.

The Class of 2014 forum is for people who have made their decision to attend already. This thread is for those of us who are in to talk about the school and the decision-making process a bit.tbldc2009 wrote:I think you guys should move this thread to the Class of 2014 forum, so that current applicants are not confused.

Oh, I didn't know there's a reason behind it. I retract my previous suggestion.cigrainger wrote:The Class of 2014 forum is for people who have made their decision to attend already. I love DC and want to work in DC afterward, but I've been a little scared by some of the attitudes toward GULC around here.

In as well. Personal note was a very nice touch.

In a word: pessimistic. In two: condescending.Teflon1974 wrote:I'm new around here, so can you tell me what some of those attitudes are?whitman wrote:I love DC and want to work in DC afterward, but I've been a little scared by some of the attitudes toward GULC around here.

Yeah I have a pretty big crush on GULC and don't want to believe the haters. I wish there were more informed pro-GULC posters. It seems like I just see argument after argument for why it sucks.
