Re: Tulane 2011
FWIW, I e-mailed them last week with an updated resume. Maybe it helped show I was still very interested in Tulane?

I want to call them to ask wtf they're doing with my app, but I know i'll get the same response. Plus, I don't really want to seem like I'm rushing them, because it's faster for them just to say "no" than to find some redeeming qualities in my app and accept me.

On April 1 I bet they're going to get 350000 calls.Mr_Brightside wrote:I want to call them to ask wtf they're doing with my app, but I know i'll get the same response. just registered on this forum after keeping up with this thread for about a week.... applied to Tulane in February. It seems that everyone who has been accepted or waitlisted has been notified via email. So am i safe to assume that i'll be receiving a rejection letter??? (status changed to "decision has been made" on 3/21)

Look under your mailings, if you were accepted, according to most people on this thread, it should say "Acceptance Packet Mailed" or something similar.ls1car wrote:just registered on this forum after keeping up with this thread for about a week.... applied to Tulane in February. I don't know about WL, but the people who were dinged I believe it just says "decision letter mailed."

That's true. You should see that an acceptance letter has been mailed, and the top of the status checker will read, "Congratulations! You've been admitted! Please see your acceptance letter and packet for more information."

What about the people who have been notified of an acceptance via email?LilMan'sMom wrote:Spookyghost wrote:Look under your mailings, if you were accepted, according to most people on this thread, it should say "Acceptance Packet Mailed" or something similar.ls1car wrote:just registered on this forum after keeping up with this thread for about a week.... applied to Tulane in February. From what it seems like, the status checker changes around the same time as the email, so it should be both, not one or the other.Mr_Brightside wrote:What about the people who have been notified of an acceptance via email?LilMan'sMom wrote:Spookyghost wrote:Look under your mailings, if you were accepted, according to most people on this thread, it should say "Acceptance Packet Mailed" or something similar.ls1car wrote:just registered on this forum after keeping up with this thread for about a week.... applied to Tulane in February. From what it seems like, people aren't rejected by e-mail, but I don't know if ALL acceptances got an e-mail.
From what I have gathered following this thread is that:
Acceptance
- Status checker change to decision rendered.
- Acceptance e-mail (though I am not sure if this is 100% of the time)
- Acceptance package under mailings
- Status checker congratulations
Ding
- Status checker change to decision rendered.
- NO e-mail
- "Decision letter mailed" under mailings (as opposed to acceptance package.)
As for waitlist, it seems that there have been hardly any, so a lot of us might be destined for that.

Anyone else receive financial aid information in the mail? I received mine sometime last week. I qualified for 1,500 a year in perkins, 8,500 in subsidized stafford, and 12,000 in unsub staff, and the rest in glad plus. the total cost of attendance was 62,XXX a year!

I got the financial aid information in the mail last week as well. I was going to go ahead and apply for a GradPlus loan, but decided to wait until after I attend the financial aid session at ASW next weekend. Anyone who went to last weekend's ASW have thoughts on the sessions?

Re: Tulane 2011
I've been complete since 10/13 and I'm still waiting.. so I went ahead and gave them a call this morning for an update. They told me my file was still in review and they hope to get out most decisions by April 1st.jeo wrote:Mine's been complete since before Thanksgiving and I haven't heard anything either.TruePeace10 wrote:ugh my application has been complete since early december. how is it possible that we haven't heard yet?
So my file has been "in review" for about 5 months.. Must be just borderline enough for them to have no clue what to do with me.. lol

Did they tell you that? Or are you assuming that's what the issue was?ls1car wrote:well got the rejection letter today.... had a 160 and 3.7 from lsu but an "unusual" amount of traffic violations.... good luck to everyone

I think anything under 50 living in Baton Rouge for 4 years isn't unusual, knowing those roads. Sorry to hear that though man. Good luck to ya.ls1car wrote:well got the rejection letter today.... had a 160 and 3.7 from lsu but an "unusual" amount of traffic violations.... good luck to everyone

Re: Tulane 2011
about a week after applying i got an email asking for an explanation for the traffic violations. There's no way to tell if that was the deciding factor or not but i definitely believed it played a roleMr_Brightside wrote:Did they tell you that? haha true but i've also taken many cross-country road trips, averaging about 35,000 miles a year.... but i guess there's no legitimate excuse for speeding... tulane wasn't my top choice but one i was definitely hoping to get intoSpookyghost wrote:I think anything under 50 living in Baton Rouge for 4 years isn't unusual, knowing those roads. Re: Tulane 2011
I called today because Tulane was one of my schools with the latest date "complete" without a response.
I (hesitantly) gave them my name over the phone and they she was very polite checking on my file. She said it was still in review and a decision could be A MONTH or maybe less, maybe more. I made sure she heard me about my half a dozen seat deposits which are due in about two weeks, and she said she would note it on my file.
Ugh.

Re: Tulane 2011
Generally I am an optimist in life, but even I had doubts about the "decisions before ASW #2 on April 1."
And then this happened. Cmon now, Tulane.
