Unlikely but true. Dinged this weekend with a 166, applied back in November. WTF?Spookyghost wrote:That seems very unlikely though. Doesn't make a lot of sense - maybe they changed their notification policies mid-cycle? I can't imagine you 166ers getting flat out dinged. If waitlisted, if you were to write a loci I would bet you'd be pulled right off - they probably expect you to go elsewhere. So strange.ebo wrote:Looks like I've either been rejected or waitlisted with a 166 as well. Wasn't planning on attending Tulane, just perplexed by this.Barbie wrote:Considering my email yest it seems they aren't full... nor out of $$. I don't know why they would YP a 166 though! I don't much know Tulane's medians, but that doesn't seem too far out of range to me...Spookyghost wrote:Yeesh, they're either YPing severely or they're simply full.
I would bet the former over the latter.
But, from what I found earlier in this thread is that you get acceptance by e-mail and status checker pretty much simultaneously.
You get some congratulations at the top of the status checker according to some, and get an "acceptance packet mailed" in mailings. All wl/dings thus far seem to have been "Decision Letter mailed" as opposed to this, but maybe, as I said, they have changed policy through the cycle.

Waitlisted via e-mail as well.
I'm guessing sending a LOCI with Wait list reply.
I am in CA, so I can't really visit the school either. Any other suggestions for staying in touch?

Weird! I just withdrew from Tulane online and decided to fill out their survey, and they actually ask if you use TLS or LSN and what impressions these websites left. Just thought that was interesting.

I am going to attribute my rejection to the fact that they are possibly stalking me and I called the school time inefficient and tightwads.ilovesf wrote:Weird! I'm still waiting, have been complete since early December. I sent an updated resume with some impressive additions since my initial application. I emailed them indicating that my seat deposit deadline for my alternate school is April 15. They said there is no guarantee that I would hear by then. I love you, Tulane. Please love me back.

Make sure to check out Magazine St. Also I found my cheapest flight there with JetBlue, you might want to look there for airfare. Have fun!Barbie wrote:Planning my visit for next week. I know this thread doesn't seem very lively but can anyone help me in finding a hotel? I was thinking about doing the negotiator but I don't know which areas to select. Is the Garden District an okay place to stay? I don't have much to spend since I had to fund a last minute plane ticket and other expenses already costing an arm and leg, but I definitly don't want to stay somewhere that isn't nice since I'll be by myself.

The Garden District is really nice, mostly residential and near Tulane. Since it is a nice area though, I don't know how cheap the rooms are. If you stay anywhere near St. Charles Ave you can just take the trolly up to Tulane.Barbie wrote:I know this thread doesn't seem very lively but can anyone help me in finding a hotel? I am...the last time my status checker was updated was 11/22/2010....to be honest, I don't care how long they keep my application as long as I get accepted. Here's hoping!TheEug wrote:I'm still waiting on you Tulane.... Please send the love my way!

+1 St. Chalres is way easier to access, and there are few hotels really close to campus (which is frustrating).
