Is there some weird, New Orleans, pronunciation that I'm not privy to, or is it as simple as it sounds: Two-lane, like a rural highway?

Emphasis on the Tu (TWO-lane) lol, but it doesn't really matter. Now you can work on Tchoupitoulas!

Chop-ah-too-las
Ha! I'm up two!

Give me another. Lol

Yes, the last is the news paper.

Lagniappe (lan-yap) is a Louisiana term that means "something extra."

Chalmette (Sha-la-may) is a town outside New Orleans (There may also have been a historical figure by that name...I took Louisiana history in 6th grade, so I'm fuzzy).

Any more questions for this edition of "ask a native?" :D

The old creoles I know, who still call their parents frenchmen, pronounce it may. I've been wrong been wrong before though, so I'll take your word for it.

Again, Barbie, Tulane is notorious for things like this. I didn't keep track of 2013's cycle, but 2012 had quite a few people who had numbers that ranged from auto admit to consider to fat chance who ended up waiting till late March regardless of when they applied.

My advice, for your own sanity, relax. This might take a while.

You're back? I thought your BAN for stalking me might have set in some common sense. Continue, though, to be the most useless and dimwitted poster on TLS and enjoy your future ban! <3 <3

Doubtful. Got the welcome packet the other day with some more good news, I'm in and set at Tulane. Barring $$$ at one or two other schools (a near impossibility) I'll be in New Orleans next year. Very, very happy.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
