Re: Chapman 2011!
First seat deposit for me (my acceptance letter is dated 2/25) is 4/15 and that's a $250 deposit. The second is due 6/15 and that is $350. I would assume if you get accepted close to that date your deadline might be extended a bit. I'd wait to hear and then deal with it, but at least you have a ballpark.

YES!! I'm local and was offered a 90% scholarship, this offer and being able to stay where I live wiped out any other choices in my head.

Damn, I submitted my application in early January and have been "in review" since 2/14. It would be really nice to hear something soon . . . .

sent in last minute app. Will definitely consider Chapman if I get a decent scholly. Not sure how much I will get this late in the cycle.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Based on your very late application and the fact that your GPA and LSAT score is well below the median, I wouldn't bank on receiving a scholarship. My guess is that you will be placed on the waiting list simply because the school has likely already reached its admittance threshold (i.e., it has already admitted x number of students from x number of applications and doesn't want an over-matriculation or an increase in its admittance rate). However, this is pure conjecture. Cross your fingers, and best of luck!risktaker wrote:sent in last minute app. Will definitely consider Chapman if I get a decent scholly. No go on the scholly, but they were very, very nice about it. Told me straight up why I did not qualify and I believe they were very fair about it. Oh well.

If you are comfortable, can you share with us why you did not qualify? Just curious.adonai wrote:No go on the scholly, but they were very, very nice about it. Told me straight up why I did not qualify and I believe they were very fair about it. Oh well.

Basically told me that I would qualify based on LSAT, but not on GPA. Have to meet both thresholds in order to be able to get one.KiraMarie wrote:If you are comfortable, can you share with us why you did not qualify? Got 2500 in need based aid today in the mail. That should cover books and maybe a big mac extra value meal. Small, not large.

Haha congrats! At least it's a little bit of extra cash. Didn't know they gave out need based aid!adonai wrote:Got 2500 in need based aid today in the mail. That should cover books and maybe a big mac extra value meal. Small, not large.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Yep, I didn't know either. Apparently 2500/yr is the max. It is better than nothing though I guess. Most law schools don't even award need based aid.conroyc wrote:Haha congrats!
