True. I raised my score from my first test to second 8 points in a month and that was with taking old old tests. I know if I take a year off and practice with not old easy tests I can raise my score a lot more because I will have more than a month to study, but the real world sucks. Lets hope Buffalo works out.

My UB application has been "in review" since last Friday. How long is the typical wait for a decision?

Mine has been as well. Buffalo is starting to piss me off. My application has been in over a month. To top it off they keep sending emails about random stuff and tricking into thinking it's my acceptance.

Re: Buffalo Waiting Thread
this is the busy time of the application process- not early in the cycle. There are a ton of applicants who are allready in review. I applied in early november, and didnt get the decisoin until mid december.( I went complete a few days after submitting- which was early). Its going to take time to get a decision. If you are above a 157, 3.5 your chances of being admitted are good ( thats around their medians). just be patient, and try to get your mind off this ( easier said than done- i know)

Yeah, good call. I just want to get in so my parents will stop bugging me. UB is where they want me to go, so everyday I get asked.

i hear you about the 'rents. Mine constantly are asking where im going to go.
just tell them that once you know where you are going- youll tell them ( and they will be the first to know), but until then, please dont rush this major life decision.

In at Buffalo today 02/08. The tuition/cost of living/proximity to home are all attractive factors. If they throw some $$ my way I can't see how I can turn this down.

170/3.85 and a 170/4.0 from UB undergrad both got 5k a year because the SUNY system is in financial shambles. You'll probably get the same scholly though.kkklick wrote:In at Buffalo today 02/08. Don't take that the wrong way, UB is still a very good school!

Ub doesnt offer much money because they dont have much money. Plus with the tuition allready cheap for in staters- its not that bad of a choice. Actually, UB has been climbing up in my own rankings( up to the final 3) and now im really starting to consider it. However, i wont know for sure until i visit all 3 schools!

Yea I just read the report on TLS as well, wasn't expecting cash so it doesn't change my decision though process. I have a decision rendered at USD just waiting for it in the mail. SUNY and USD are at the top of my list right now.

The TLS report is very outdated, but most of the info is pretty accurate. It's the only law school in the Buffalo/Rochester area, so it dominates the regions.kkklick wrote:Yea I just read the report on TLS as well, wasn't expecting cash so it doesn't change my decision though process. I offered it to Northwood but I'll offer to anyone who's interested, I'm currently at UB undergrad and I'm the freakin poster boy for the place, so if you're ever up and visiting and want to meet up let me know!

Re: Buffalo Waiting Thread
What do you guys think my chances are getting into UB: 3.75/152, Summa Cum Laude, Poly Sci, UB Grad, LORs from SUNY Distinguished Professors, 10 years full-time employment, President of a well-known WNY corporation, solid charity work, lots of publishing and licensing credentials...make a good living in Buffalo and it would suck to leave...worst case scenario retake the LSAT I guess and wait another year...it just sucks when your 28 and you have to factor in 3 years of work in a situation that works for you...

Not sure how high Buffalo regards the LSAT, but the rest of your app looks more than solid. February wasn't an option?
