Does anyone know anything about fellowships, etc. at DePaul? I've been searching their website and can't seem to find any for incoming students.

Decision rendered, not admitted via status checker. Bad start, it looks like they dolled out all their loot anyway.

Accepted to the part time program yesterday with 157/3.5. It was only about a week after I applied that I heard from them.

Just send an email to the main admissions address. Reference your name, LSAC number, thank them and politely withdraw. It's not a big deal.

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
Probably going to be withdrawing this week. Sent them a nice email asking for consideration for further scholarship dollars, and telling them I had received more than $9k per year more from a school in the T1, and within 5 minutes (well after business hours) I had a response saying that they didn't do that.
Bummer, I really like Chicago.

Waitlisted on 3/11. Complete on 3/07. 160, 3.34. Kind of surprised.

This surprises me quite a bit. I think if you had applied earlier in the cycle, you would have been admitted and given merit dollars.tennissanta wrote:Waitlisted on 3/11. Complete on 3/07. 160, 3.34. Kind of surprised.

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
I'm getting really worried about the rumors I've been hearing about scholarship retention rates. Anyone have any info on this? I hear its between 30% and 40% of students retain their dollars from year to year. To contrast this, I spoke to the Dean of Admissions at Loyola and their number was ~90%.

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
I was having this problem too! I finally just sent a letter saying "Thanks but no thanks" (sort of weird to copy the rejection letters I've gotten from other places and send it back to one...), but I don't know if it worked. Now that I'm waitlisted at my top choice (GULC) I really wanted to give up my spot at the schools I know I'm not going to, but many of them make it so hard!LaLeyDelMonte wrote:has anyone found out how to withdraw yet?

Got a t-shirt in the mail today - there's not much I can do with a very large-looking size L shirt, but it was a nice thought.

Yeah, that was my thought too. I think this late in the cycle there's probably many better candidates (than myself) who have already been accepted and DePaul is hedging on the number of further applicants it will receive given they've extended their deadline until 4/01. Their medians are 159 and 3.40, which is pretty much where I fall.

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
I received $13000/year (no gpa stip) from Loyola last week and sent DePaul a request for money as they hadn't given any. They not so politely told me they don't do that and to look at their not so helpful list of outside scholarships I could apply for. Lame, DePaul, but thanks for making my decision to withdraw that much easier.
Good luck to all you waitlisted folks, hope someone gets in at my withdrawal!

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
Accepted today.....surprised....but glad in a sense. Sadly will probably face the sticker.
Was waitlisted at Loyola last week, and have been in "final review" at Kent since last week.....I'd love to go to Kent as my 1st, Loyola as 2nd, and Depaul as 3rd.....but glad I got accepted into 1 at least. Helps take the edge off.
2.76/161 <---had a crappy first 2 years, followed by a solid last 2 yrs....good work experience...
Anyone goin to the open house thing next weekend april 2nd?

Re: DePaul Law School 2014
DePaul doesn't have fellowships for incoming students. They also don't have scholarships you can apply for. My experience was if you don't get anything upon admission, you're paying sticker price. All the guy gave me was a list of outside scholarships that I don't qualify for (they're all minority or very specialized scholarships). DePaul's average student loan debt is $15k higher than Loyola and Chicago-Kent's. Wonder why.bgb1016 wrote:Does anyone know anything about fellowships, etc. at DePaul?
