Withdrew today. There's $48k and a part time spot open. Best of luck, all.

lol.
Mine was too small...
I gave it to my mom. She likes baggy t-shirts and now she can brag to her friends that her son got into DePaul Law (even though I won't be going there).

Planning to start withdrawing from schools this week.
Accepted at my #2 and WL at my #1 still waiting on my OTHER #2 (Two equal schools to ME, just for different reasons).
Plus accepted with money to several other "safety" schools... Including DePaul, but DePaul's money just wasn't enticing enough especially considering the COL in Chi-town.

the info I got directly from DePaul says that 30-40% of students retain their scholarships. Once they are lost, they are gone forever.

Kent lets you keep a certain % if you fall below the threshold and I believe you can earn it back.

edit: this is from Kent's site:
Many Chicago-Kent merit scholarships require a 3.250 cumulative GPA to renew the award. Although the exact percentage varies from class to class, typically about 25% to 30% of the class attains a 3.250. In addition, beginning with the Fall 2007 entering class, students may retain 50% of the scholarship award if they attain at least a 3.000 cumulative GPA, which is typically met by slightly more than 50% of the class.

Thanks for the info, didn't know what % of Depaul or Kent retained, but did know that Kent allowed the 3.0+ to retain 50% of it.

To edit my #s from above, the scholly's are per year....didn't know if that was self explanatory or not....overall Depaul 45k, Kent 30K.

Do you have any insight on section stacking at Kent? I know I've read it somewhere else that Depaul does stack....interesting however that a higher % retain their schollys there.

Received a nice large white envelope today from DePaul... turns out it was their College of Liberal Arts and Sciences trolling me to sign up for graduate courses. I was highly displeased.

I turned down my offer for admission today... Just too damn expensive. Hopefully someone else will fill this spot!

Plus I got offered $16k/year at IU-Indy with in-state tuition.

The only thing really holding me back from attending are the scholly stacking rumors.

I'd recommend that any of you who applied to Loyola and received a scholarship at DePaul let DePaul know that Loyola is no longer requiring a GPA stipulation for ANY of their scholarships. This is HUGE and I've heard from countless students and alums that they DO stack sections here. I'd be weary of any scholarship offer from them outside of the first year.

can someone explain how devastating section stacking could be? I mean, I figure if I'm getting a 2.3 or below, I might as well just drop out of school...

You can pay online with a cc, if I remember right.

After I did not send in a seat deposit, I got an email telling me that scholarship money opened up due to some withdrawals and got offered $15,000 a year with a 3.2 GPA stipulation. The offer says I have to send in a seat deposit by May 13th. Very intriguing DePaul...

Did you have a scholarship before? And did you send them a withdrawal email?

No, I did not have a scholarship before. I was accepted in December and was trying to decide between Loyola and DePaul while waiting to hear from Case (Wait-list...). I did not send them a withdrawal email, I just did not pay the seat deposit thinking that would basically withdraw me.

Very intriguing. I sent them a withdrawal email after receiving nada from them (and trying to negotiate because I got a lot from Loyola). It seems to me that Loyola/Kent/DePaul are all hurting for students this year. When did you get the offer?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
