I'm not sure how many get invited (it says "select number") but they only offer it to 10-12 based on the email.

I still have no word from Penn despite applying in November and acceptances at CCN. Maybe this is bad karma for not taking the why Penn essay seriously enough.

Is it possible either (a) they're debating whether to reject me because they think I'll go elsewhere no matter what, or (b) they're considering me for a scholarship?
I think it is A. They seem to do a lot of YP waitlisting. On LSN, there are only three people with an LSAT above 176 that have gotten a decision and all of them have GPAs below 3.6.

Anyone know how long the essay should be?? It says "Though we encourage brevity, we are not imposing a word limit so that you have the freedom to answer the question as you see fit." Does that mean like 1 page? 2 page double spaced???

Does anyone know how generous Penn is with need/merit based scholarships? I'm slightly below the LSAT median and above the GPA 75. Is it basically little to no money if you don't score a named scholarship? Also, all of the named scholarships are in reality just their way of getting top admits to stay instead of flee to HYSCCN, right? So, unless I have #s above both 75s, I shouldn't be expecting anything?

Woo Hoo! Finally!

Got a phone call acceptance today. Just got the message. They apparently reached the decision this morning, so heads up for folks still waiting. I was last UR 1/27. Submitted in November.

In the message they let me know I can expect an email in a few hours, a status change by the end of the day, and a package mailed within two weeks. But they wanted to make sure and let me know before the weekend :) !

After a week of holds and waitlists this feels awfully nice. I'm damned glad I went full out on the "why penn" essay. Fingers crossed for a scholly invite!

Congrats to everyone who's heard back so far! I thought for sure I'd been put in the "we hate you" pile.

If you think you received one of the most recent acceptance calls, can you post what time it came? From previous weeks, how far into the evening do they call?

The scholarship invites came via email, not regular mail right?

Hold via e-mail. Who invented this hold step? I'd like to have a word with them after this week.

+1 Also curious. I need something new to freak out about while checking my mail after the Columbia hold.
