Penn 2011
Hey All!
Thought I would start a thread for those applying RD for Penn 2011, since there's only an ED thread right now... we might want our own support group since it's going to be a longer wait for us!
Good luck everyone!

Re: Penn 2011
Last year the first non-ED acceptances came the 2nd week of Dec. based on LSN. There are more than 1. Some withdrew so can't be that they didn't check ED. So maybe that's just the standard answer for everyone so you will be patient, but they do review and admit people before then.sarcasticswede wrote:My email from them says they aren't even looking at ours until after they finish with the ED kids

Applied 9/24, complete 10/4. I'm ED at NYU so I'm hoping I never get a decision from Penn, but it's somewhere I'd love to be otherwise.

I'm from last cycle. I think I was in one of the first batches, and it was early December. I had applied sometime around mid-October. If you're in that first batch, it won't be much more than a month from now.r6_philly wrote:Last year the first non-ED acceptances came the 2nd week of Dec. based on LSN. There are more than 1. Thanks for the info. Just 1 question - do they let you know by phone / email, or snail mail?Lermontov wrote: I'm from last cycle. I think I was in one of the first batches, and it was early December. I found out by phone. I think all the early ones are done that way, though I wouldn't swear to it. Later on they still phone most people, but some get emails instead. No one has to wait for snail mail.kazu wrote:Thanks for the info. Just 1 question - do they let you know by phone / email, or snail mail?Lermontov wrote: I'm from last cycle. I had multiple, but the lower of the two was several years old and it was a solid 8 points lower, which I addendumed about. They basically ignored the older one for me, I think. They say they give more weight to the higher of the two if there's a reason, but look at the entirety. They don't flat-out average.OrdinarilySkilled wrote:As I wait for my retake score so I can submit....

Q. If I take the LSAT more than once, does the Admissions Committee consider the average or the higher LSAT score?
All available LSAT scores are noted by the Admissions Committee and are part of the application evaluation. If there are circumstances that you believe affected your performance on a prior test, we encourage you to provide a supplemental essay with your application explaining those circumstances. The Admissions Committee will consider such information and may, at its discretion, evaluate your application based on the higher or highest LSAT score.
Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.
