you know whats funny I thought I was the only one who looked at sports team in the vicinity of the law school. I'm thinking about Boalt a lot and one reason (clearly not a main reason) but I can see all the pac ten sports, both leagues in baseball, both conferences in football, plus semi pro basketball (GS warriors)ksimon2007 wrote:unc0mm0n1 wrote:Cubs gonna win the central this year and get our first chip since WWI

In my additional essay/loveletter to Penn after my hold I may or may not have mentioned the Phillies as one of the (many) experiences I have had in Philly thus far...I hope I get a Phillies fan reading it! haha

+1, ow. Afraid this does not bode well for my chances at Michigan, Berkeley, and NYU, esp given my WLs at Columbia and Chicago.canes wrote:.... And waitlisted. Third waitlist of the week, I'm on a quite a roll... Penn's was, however, the least compassionate waitlist invitation IMO.
EDIT: I forget, what's the general feeling about visiting post-WL?

That has to be YP. With those numbers you are bound for HYSCCN. I'm sure if you wrote a good Why Penn LOCI you'd get let in.ImpatientlyWaiting wrote:Waitlisted. Part of the 1/3 black hole. 174/3.99.

If it was YP, then I was probably a good candidate for it: someone with numbers for HYSCCN, but coming straight from undergrad without any amazing softs. That means they might have expected me to go elsewhere, but that I wasn't really fit for a scholarship. I won't bother writing a LOCI. I'd rather let someone else have the spot. Good luck everyone, and congrats to everyone who's gotten in!

They are rolling the named scholly invites out. The admitted student site says another batch is coming soon. Dean's in early March.aredhello wrote:I remember reading that James Wilson invites went out already...has anyone received a Toll invite as well?
I remember seeing at least one person say they had received a Toll invite.

Sounds good. My mentor went there and he loved it. Love that it's in a city. I don't think I could live in a place like Ithaca or Durham.ksimon2007 wrote:Well if I got to Penn I expect you to go as well so we can hit up a few gamesunc0mm0n1 wrote:you know whats funny I thought I was the only one who looked at sports team in the vicinity of the law school. Hey, quick question...I applied 1/24 but messed up and had to send something else in which meant I wasn't complete until 2/8. At this point, though, I still haven't gone UCR. Any cause for concern?

I think that if you weren't complete until 2/8 you shouldn't worry yet. They randomly take longer on some people's files than on others. Give it at least another week or two.mel2010 wrote:Hey, quick question...I applied 1/24 but messed up and had to send something else in which meant I wasn't complete until 2/8. for those of you who heard back from Penn, how long did it take for you to hear back since your second committee review?

Never had one. It was 1/27 until the day of the (happy) decision.tlslsnlsp wrote:for those of you who heard back from Penn, how long did it take for you to hear back since your second committee review?
Also, Penn has finished about 35% of their merit scholarship evaluations as of 01 March, according to the Financial Aid Office.

Similar question, although I have been complete since 1/20/11. Should I be concerned?

Well the first round of named schollies are supposed to come out sometime this week, so maybe the 35% is those people and they're starting on the others too?r6_philly wrote:So has anyone received an offer?niederbomb wrote: Also, Penn has finished about 35% of their merit scholarship evaluations as of 01 March, according to the Financial Aid Office.

Hey guys, I was wondering when I might expect a second UCR. First UCR was 2/11 and I'm getting slightly anxious! Is there a general time frame that Penn follows, or is it different for people?
