Under "committee" review is standard terminology for Penn right? Kinda caught me off guard...

Thanks. I was hoping it was some special review. I went ur too quick, so I'm not confident. Unless of course they like a good story...

Mine went UR really quickly and I got in, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

In my case, I sent my app in on 1/27, and I was "under committee review" on 2/22. Maybe it's not as quick as I thought since I got some acceptances in 2-3 weeks. But after reading some posts, it seems a bit quick compared to the rest.

1/11

Edit: I should probably mention that my numbers aren't stellar or by any means "auto-admit". Not URM. Really it was just an anomaly, no real reason for it that I can see unless they loved my personal statement or something. I'm just pointing out that you can't really predict with Penn. I've seen people go a really long time and suddenly get in and I've seen people get dinged immediately. All you know for sure is that there are 2 UR dates and then a decision on a Friday (or Thursdays too now?) in almost all cases.

I sent in my app on 2/7, went complete on 2/16, went under 1st UR on 2/22. Pretty quick.

I'd say it's pretty much in line with the rest of the January apps. It seems like they are handling apps submitted in 2011 quite a bit faster than those who submitted early in the cycle.

Hey all,

I went UR for the second (or third... don't know for sure) on 2/22. I was complete on 1/4. I've been seeing that Friday seems like a big decision day... should I expect something today?

Random question: Does anyone know if you can defer a named scholarship at Penn? Would the policy be the same as their policy for other admits, i.e. case-by-case basis?

Hahaha two days later I wander into the thread... so THAT'S what all those disgusting prank calls have been about!

Seriously, reception was mad fun after I got over my nervousness. Thanks alcohol! Recommended for everyone*.

Haha I edited before I saw this... but I'm so glad you got this comment in first. Delayed adulthood FTW.

Complete date: 1/21/11

Still no UCR... Should I be worried? I'm beginning wonder if I should call them because my application was initially incomplete. After I sent in additional materials I got the complete e-mail, but seems like there hasn't been any movement since then.

Fortunate enough to get the call a little while ago. Submitted late November, second UCR on 1/24.

Good luck to all still waiting!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
