question regarding whether I was ever a part of the armed forces, etc. I don't understand how I could've missed that... ugh! I'm sure this is hurting my chances.

Wow, seems a bit obvious though...I mean, if someone was in the armed forces i think that would come up somewhere along the line. Petty of them in my opinion and Im sure it doesnt affect your chance

They probably just have a policy to follow up on stuff like that so people couldn't get away with leaving out information (especially character and fitness stuff) and then attributing it to oversight.

I think that is a good sign, i.e. they care enough to contact you. They asked me about what I had been doing since the Peace Corps, since I didn't list anything after that on my resume. Fortunately, I had found work a couple of weeks in advance. One week later from that question I was in.

I'm certainly happy that they didn't flat out reject me and that they cared enough to make sure my application was complete for consideration. But the fact that missing a click of a mouse (which I don't know how I could've missed) would have such a possibly dramatic impact on their assessment of me is worrisome. Oh well, with so much that has plagued my application process, I guess this is to be expected. =\

For Fordham I didn't fill out or click the box that said were you ever convicted of a felony or charged with anything etc. They emailed me about it. It didn't affect me at all. In fact I got a 75k scholarship which is pretty generous considering my numbers.

Yeah, BU can be unpredictable with their timing of $$$ awards from what I've heard. I scanned and emailed them my GW offer, basically asking them to match/come close to the offer. Did this two weeks ago, so far nothing, but worth a shot I guess. If I hear nothing by the end of the month, I'll contact them again, hopefully with another similar offer elsewhere to convince them. Doesn't hurt to try.

Edit for substantive questoin: This total lack of a status checker saddens me. Ive gotten an application complete and ready for review email. Do they also send out an email once it is under review, or is the next contact i am likely to have going to be a decision mailing?? (notice assumed reject/waitlist)

I did not hear a single peep from them from "your application is complete" on 12/1 until I got a phone call from a 617 number telling me I was in! I tried to submit a request for status check but they never got back to me. I don't know if it was related or not (probably not), but less than a week from when I requested the status check via email, they called me.

Ditto! I was complete in early Dec and I got the call at the end of Jan. I didn't request a status update, so I heard nothing in between! Good luck to you!
