What did they say?

They told him they take all parts of your application into consideration. Cornell admissions is a holistic process and no one is automatically in OR out. They've accepted plenty of students before with a lower lsat/lower gpa/no work experience ect. and those students have gone on to do really well in law school.

Come on dude, it's an admissions office.

Someone in this thread just got rejected with a 168/3.88. He had multiple underage drinking violations though? I thought TLS wisdom though was that these don't really matter.

multiple matters
recent matters
bad addendum matters

xxx. Not sure about whether or not it was recent. No clue on how he went about for the addendum. But it's quite shocking since number wise it seemed like he would be a sure admit (or at the worst a deferral).

All else equal, schools want your application. They get your money and you boost their selectivity statistics. Adcoms are not above overstating your chances and qualifications in an effort to get you to apply.

Edit: Wait, masterhearts is a URM? Well what the hell are we all arguing over?

I know this is the generic response, I just thought that they told the OP something more specific.

I have high lsat 170+, but low GPA, and when I brough it to their attention they were very open, and willing to discuss my application.

Dude, if I were running a law school I would have rejected the guy with the multiple underage drinking violations even if he had a 180 and a 4.0. Unless the drinking/driving occurred under the age of 13 (and we all know that doesn't happen)
It shows a blatant disrespect for the law and reckless behavior. I woudn't want such a character in my law school.

Seriously? Then their receptionist flat-out lied to me! I submitted on the morning of the 1st and am still processing at 11/16 and she assured me I would still be considered (but she didn't take my name).

I have this same predicament and posted about it yesterday. I was told that as long as I got my app in as soon as possible, it would still be considered EA. I submitted it 11/6, still processing at 11/9. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if there is anything they can do. I'd be super disappointed to be considered RD.
