Dammit now I'm afraid of my email inbox. Still nothing, but that doesn't mean it's not coming.

Did everyone who has gotten an email from them previously go under review? I am still on complete.

Nevermind. Now under review. How long does it take from under review until decision?

Now I'm worried. 1 CCN number deferral - maybe bad luck. Two? YP or crazy attempt to become holistic?!?!

I will put my money on YP.

Might be. It is a bit peculiar that Cornell's median and 75th LSAT are 168. Hard to say if thats yp or higher LSATs not wanting to go to Ithica though.

Remember Cornell experienced the largest increase in applications last year in the T14? Maybe the yield above 168 was REALLY bad last year except for splitters and they are operating based on regression model.

That's the best explanation I've heard.

What's wierd though is their 25th percentile gpa went up a couple tenths (if I remember correctly) , indicating less splitter yields.

But yeah, bad yield above 168 would explain it.

How heavily does Cornell consider softs and public service? I have a 3.6 and a 166, but a masters, two years of Teach for America, and a pretty public interest heavy resume. I'm worried because I know I'm a long shot with those numbers and the deferrals for scores in the 170s are worrying me! Under review and hoping for a response soon!

Maybe the dean of admissions just likes the number 168.

Well actually I'm not that shocked since he is a splitter. Splitters are unpredictable anyways...I'm still more in shock at people who had numbers above both 75th and got deferred...

So it's looking like:

GPA > median, LSAT at median = in
GPA < median, LSAT above median = deferred?

Ugh, I so hope you're wrong. According to this theory, the whole thing would be a YP scheme? In which case, deferred candidates could express their sincere continued interest and maybe get accepted eventually?
