Sadly. I am a re-applicant.

I was deferred, so they are looking at us again. Hopefully.

Same here. I was deferred on 11/24 and now IR 3/21.

It says "if it was complete by 2/1 then a decision in 8-12 weeks," which hopefully means 8-12 weeks from 2/1 and not 8-12 weeks from 3/21 but knowing Cornell...

So now I am officially in the same situation as last years. I was complete 3/something last year and went in review about the same time.

Reserve on the way. :)

You've done this process more than once?

I think several people on this board applied fairly late last cycle and re-applied early this time (with significant better results).

You have great numbers and an amazing list to choose from. My chances look terrible now in comparison.

And a few others also hid out from the economy/hiring situation as well. They will likely do better because the market improved, and competition is less fierce this class.

Don't sweat it. It surprised me to be deferred, and be reserved last cycle. It's just something about me. Your chance will be different.

Ugh. This process has been absolutely terrible, and I would never want to do it again. Kudos to all who did and it paid off for them.

I am actually considering re-applying next year because I applied so late in this cycle. If there are any re-applicants that wouldn't mind sharing their experience and answering a couple of my questions, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I want to go under review. I've been complete since 2/20.

I'm a re-applicant, I can answer some PM's.

Also, specifically for Cornell, I would advise against doing EA. Mainly because I am fairly sure that you will receive a decision sooner if you choose to apply the day after EA closes than if you do EA (because you will most likely get deferred). Maybe I have a wrong estimation of Cornell's process but I really think that not doing EA is the best thing to do.

Not to hijack this thread, but, to be honest, I've considered re-taking the LSAT in June and applying again next cycle myself. What scares me is that I took the October LSAT and scored 6 pts above PT average (and I did all 60 PTs) . . . I think I've lucked out with my score as it is. But, ugh!

(I wonder if I can re-take in June even after submitting a deposit seat and see what I get . . .)

Yes you can. That is what I did last cycle.

I think unless you're really set on HYS, that's just silly. You're into some incredible schools.

I thought about taking it in June to see if I could increase an award, but I don't know if that's a smart idea.

I am thinking about doing the same, depending on where I send the deposit to.

Will other schools let me push back their deposit deadline since Cornell obviously won't get back to me by mid April?

Also is there any chance for negotiating $ from Cornell at this point if I find out if I got in or not in mid April...Gosh.

I think my favorite thing about Cornell's glacial decisions pace is that they also have by far the earliest seat deposit date of the T-13... I mean do we really think they will have all of their decisions made by April 15th?

I doubt other schools will let you push back the deposit deadline. You may as well ask though. In the end, if you do get Cornell, you'll be out a couple hundred bucks.

I do not understand how this works either. If people even get in after April 15th do they have to deposit immediately?

i think it said in the admit package that you don't need to send in deposit by Apr.15 if you sent in your financial aid info by Mar.15. in that case you have 1 wk after they inform you of $ decisions.
