Got an interview request too. I'm going to do it over the phone, as there's no WAY I can afford to fly out there.

Tips? Tricks?

I submitted 12/13, forget when I went complete, UR 3/2 and 3/16.

+1, I got it in February and promptly withdrew.

Yeah, I didn't withdraw and actually endured the 45 minute phone interview.

I always forget I even applied to Cornell, so I'm glad to see the feeling is mutual on their end.

Judging from what I've read, it's like 'hold' at other schools: basically a pre-WL WL. The email said that they would be reviewing the reserve list and making decisions about their 'formal waiting list' in May.

I think they should refund app fees, rendering decisions after seat deposits are due at other schools is unacceptable.

Thought I'd say: Financial Aid decisions are gonna be rolling out rapidly over the next few days and weeks (I met with the director today and that's what she said).

When I suggested sums are usually 30k, 45k, 60k (not counting the dean's scholarships) she confirmed, and that in order of declining frequency. Scholarships are made mostly on merit, combined with need.

Here's praying my above median GPA counts for something!

Thanks for the info. Though, I think they've been saying 'the next few days' for a few weeks now.

She specifically told me that they had been meeting today, and that I should call on Wed. if I haven't heard from them already before then. So I think they're legit in "rushing them out"

Did they mention if it would be over e-mail or snail mail? Either way, that's pretty awesome. Hopefully I can get something from them.

Thanks for the information! :D And a big +1 on hoping a high GPA counts for something. At this point I think $10,000/year would convince me to attend Cornell barring some big increase in $$ elsewhere or Chicago admitting me off the waitlist.

Snail mail.

I'm hoping for $15 since I'm broke as all get up and can expect no support whatsoever from family. But yah, I'm thinking for what I want to do and where I want to live, $15k would make me pull the trigger- Gtown will have to put on a GREAT show thursday.

Don't tell them that though- if they ask I need $20 a year!

Same here.

Also, is 60k total the absolute max if you are not awarded a Dean's Scholly?

They didn't say anything to indicate those were the only totals possible, other than being somewhat surprised I pulled those numbers out so specifically. So if I had to guess, based on LSN, yes, but its certainly possible that's not the case. I just would be really happy with $60k- that's my price threshhold for having a reasonable lifestyle with a 150k salary. (And I'm talking like, $1800 a month expendable income/food budget)
