Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
What do people think about the prospects for folks who were deferred from EA at Cornell?
Based on what people have posted about the adcomm talking about deferrals as a "reserve list," I'm wondering of deferral is just a soft wait list....

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
current resident student budget at berkeley is still 66K and Berkeley's total resident fees for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years will be $49,348 and $51,815 respectively. Add about $22,000 to those figures for cost of living/books/other expenses and the total student budget for CA RESIDENTS is no less than 71.3K.r6_philly wrote:But you can get residency at Berkeley.rs2004 wrote:HOLY CRAP.akili wrote:Full price aka no scholarship aka extremely expensive.Negativezero wrote:What does "sticker" mean?
didn't look at the cost of attendance for cornell til now since i have been expecting a ding for a while now but holy smokes......72.3K!!!???
and here i was thinking berkeley oos coa was sky rocket high at 74K and here is cornell right behind it.

Berkeley on paper have better need-based aid (on paper because I haven't received offer yet). Also, Cornell may up it even more. I think they are comparably high priced...rs2004 wrote:

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
yea, i really hope you get a lot of that aid from berkeley...i mean i'm paying back undergrad stafford loans that are a fraction of what one year at a top 10 law school would cost and it hurts every month. i always knew law school was expensive but when the numbers are in your face like that, it's just hits you hard. anyway r6, i don't know if you've seen this thread in the discuss your law school forum but since it involves berkeley and other peer schools you should take a look, maybe helpful.r6_philly wrote:Berkeley on paper have better need-based aid (on paper because I haven't received offer yet). Extended graduated payment for $150k is like $890 a month or something like that, I have come to term with that much debt. I hope they give me some of that fancy money or I may have to go to UVa lolrs2004 wrote:

I think the payoff is worth it if you are looking at biglaw type salaries. Going for PI with no good LRAP is not worth it.

I go to South Carolina twice a year... didn't really surprise me the least bit considering that the South actually won the war.rs2004 wrote:

I'm curious what Cornell's aid will look like. I am praying they're at least as generous as UCLA...r6_philly wrote:Berkeley on paper have better need-based aid (on paper because I haven't received offer yet). Also, Cornell may up it even more. I think they are comparably high priced...rs2004 wrote:

That sounds kind of like a proposition.

BU, NU, GULC, (WUSTL, Fordham, Cardozo, GW, Northeastern) but I'm really considering the first three. I was hoping Cornell would give me money but they're being so slow that I don't think it will be in time for seat deposits...FiveSermon wrote:Where else are you in?Eugenie Danglars wrote:On to my third review date.
