you have to accept by the seat deposit deadline or one week after you get it, whichever is later.... that is my understanding

still 12/7 deferred from EA :?

looking back at past year's cycles, it's hard to expect good news at this point (with my numbers!)

Just put on reserve. Applied mid february, 3.1/178. Do they take people from reserve or is it essentially a reject?

Not to disagree, but according to the sexy red book they sent us, page 131:

"If we receive your financial aid application before the deadline, you will not be required to respond to our offer of admission until April 15th, 2011, or until two weeks after we have notified you of your financial award, whichever is later."

So maybe you only have until April 15th because you got your award early and they know that April 15th is after two week.s TITS I HAVE NO IDEA

Also just placed on reserve, 3.2/176, and interested in the answer to splitmuch's question. Anyone know how much of their class is generally admitted off of reserve?

Both of you have good numbers, I think that's a little ridiculous that you were placed on reserve.
When I was put on reserve I withdrew; not sure how Cornell works but I felt with my numbers it was essentially a soft rejection.

I of course agree DeeCee, but I did apply late I think. 12/22 application and I don't even remember first complete date. Complete email was 3/6 though.

Anyone know about this reserve business? My seat deposit at Wash U, if I choose to send it in, is going to be non-refundable by mid May, when they say they get back to those of us on reserve. Is it worth pouring my soul into a LOCI?

Put on reserve this morning. With the glacial pace of Cornell's admissions process I'm surprised that I got the email just after 9am EDT. Who knew they actually got to work at a normal hour? :P

Generally yes, but read the thing they have you sign to see if they ask you to withdraw or not cross deposit.

Wow. How are people who applied mid Feb getting decisions when people have been waiting since December...

Cornell law loses & misplaces application materials frequently.

"your application and supporting materials were received by our February 1st deadline. Because your application is considered on-time you should receive a decision by early April."

Does this say this for everyone who got a "complete" email?

So, I was deferred from EA on 11/24. Went back into review on 3/21. Now my status checker is IR 3/22. Does Cornell update everyday like some other schools? Or is someone actually reviewing my application. Sorry if this has already been addressed, I haven't been keeping up with the way that Cornell does things considering it's been 4 months since our last communication.

No, your status does not update every day. For me, my status started to update more quickly right before I got a decision.

I'm 169/3.4 w/ good work experience. No why Cornell essay, however I did send a short LOCI after the deferral. Doubt I'll get in, but keeping my fingers crossed!
