No. Look at their LSN graphs, they're pretty consistently green in the upper-right corner, even at the extremes.FiveSermon wrote:Does Cornell YP?

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Well, I'm not sure about that... there are enough red and green dots in the upper far right that make me think Cornell either YPs or reviews holistically.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I'm just curious how badly a 178/3.87 would have to mess up their app to not get into Cornell. It's not like Cornell is like Mich where a lack of "Why Mich" essay can get you WL'ed even with great numbers. I don't think it's like Berkeley either where it's holistic.Bildungsroman wrote:No. Look at their LSN graphs, they're pretty consistently green in the upper-right corner, even at the extremes.FiveSermon wrote:Does Cornell YP?

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
"At Cornell Law School, applications are down about 12 percent for 2011-12, after increasing 50 percent this year from 2009-10.
Despite the decline, the applicant pool is the second largest in Cornell Law's history. The school says it will admit its customary 190 to 195 students this fall."
Just thought I would share. I thought they over enrolled last year?

This is incorrect. Of course around 180-190 decide to matriculate but Cornell admits much more than that.FiveSermon wrote:"At Cornell Law School, applications are down about 12 percent for 2011-12, after increasing 50 percent this year from 2009-10.

Yeah the article is from law.com. Guess they need to proofread.dpk711 wrote:This is incorrect. Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I didn't write a Why Mich and I got in... and I def don't have great #s or URM status, either. I guess my softs are at least decent, but nothing spectacular imo. So writing a Why Mich is not mandatory.FiveSermon wrote:I'm just curious how badly a 178/3.87 would have to mess up their app to not get into Cornell. I withdrew from this school weeks ago, yet somehow my 2/2 processing date just got updated to processing 4/11. Funny.

Same here, although I have not yet withdrawn my app. Did you apply close to the deadline like me?BrightLine wrote:I withdrew from this school weeks ago, yet somehow my 2/2 processing date just got updated to processing 4/11. Funny.

I'm sure I'm correct in assuming that "Still Processing" at this point means WL at best. I'm WL @ NYU and UMich, so I'm figuring why the hell not another....

Dont jump to that conlcusion, numbers wise I should have basically been auto-admit here.patallica22 wrote:I'm sure I'm correct in assuming that "Still Processing" at this point means WL at best. I'm WL @ NYU and UMich, so I'm figuring why the hell not another....

ah my numbers are not nearly as good as yours sir. 167/3.8. Without giving the long version, I wouldn't necessarily call my softs good, but they are a bit different than the norm, which I think is the only keeping me alive at some of these schools.... we shall see.

Anyways it seems I won't be getting a decision today...I really hope I get it tomorrow. It's pretty distracting to have Cornell on the back of my mind...I can't get my thesis done.

They'll accept a lot more than 190, but they'll only admit 180-190.FiveSermon wrote:Yeah the article is from law.com. Guess they need to proofread.dpk711 wrote:This is incorrect. Of course. If they only accepted 200 people they would have an acceptance rate of...around 5-6%. That would be insanity.

Doesn't Yale only accept like 250 people? That's insane.

Finally went complete today. In the e-mail they let me know "Because your application is considered on-time you should receive a decision by mid-April". Glad to know they will be spending a lot of time looking at my app.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I went complete near the end of March and got this - "Because your application is considered on-time you should receive a decision by early April." - I still have the same complete date and I'd consider early April to mean maybe April 1st through the 9th or somia468 wrote:Finally went complete today. basically, don't expect it to be correct... or we can both expect quick dings.. who knows
