Congrats. This is the first I've heard of an acceptance email. Any good softs?FutureInLaw wrote:Well, just got home to an acceptance email. Placed on reserve 4/27.
Stats: 167/3.7
I placed a $1300 deposit down on a place in Boston just on Monday. Now I'm utterly confused. Will call tomorrow regarding the chance at all for money.
Good luck to those still waiting!

Do all decisions come via email?

It seemed like acceptances were coming exclusively by phone, but that appears to have changed.kk19131 wrote:Do all decisions come via email?

Also got my decision (accepted ) yesterday by e-mail. Stats: 167, 3.95, pretty good ECs, non-URM. Would be interested to know what 'as soon as possible' actually means, and if I should expect any sort of financial aid at this point?

They say that they'll refund $200 of the $700 if you let them know you will not attend by July 29.
NYC Law wrote:$700?FutureInLaw wrote:A vague note that the $700 deposit is due as soon as possible and to be kind to fellow applicants!
Man, I forgot about that whole paying two deposits at once thing.
I'm already out $1,200 in deposits....

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Just got an e-mail placing me on the "summer waitlist" - was placed on reserve on 04/26. Anyone have any ideas as to what the difference may be? Here's the content of the e-mail:
"...We are writing to let you know that we have placed your name on our summer waiting list. This list consists of a group of strong candidates for whom there currently is no space available in our entering class. Openings can occur at any time during the summer, including late August. Because of the late date, deferments of admission will not be available to people admitted from the waiting list. If you would like to continue to be considered for admission, please e-mail us at lawadmit@lawschool.cornell.edu as soon as possible with your current address, phone number and e-mail address throughout the summer.
You also should send us any additional information, such as spring semester grades and additional faculty or employer recommendations that you think would be helpful to the Committee in arriving at a favorable decision in your case. If at any time you are unavailable to respond to an offer of admission, be sure that someone at your address is authorized to act for you by sending us a $700 registration deposit..."
Thoughts?

My fiance got admitted off of Reserve this morning. I've been patiently waiting since April - but now we can go together!
There are definitely still spots. Looks like a lot of acceptances are pouring through. Good luck everyone!

I got accepted off reserve via e-mail this morning. 166/3.8. I just finished getting a place and put down my second deposit in at Colorado. I'm going to consider this for a day or two, but I'm leaning towards still attending CU.

I was placed on the summer waitlist off reserve. Not sure what 'summer waitlist' means, if anything different than just...waitlist.
167/3.82
*shrug* whatever, add it to the list of five bazillion waitlists I guess.
