In the email just sent out they said the class was full, and asked students to email to confirm whether or not they will be attending.

Sure am . I'm pretty much set on Cornell so if I don't get in this year, I'm most likely going to retry again next cycle...

Looks like everything is on hold until after the next deposit deadline passes on July 29. Interesting that the deposits and refund requests have to be postmarked on the 29th rather than received by the 29th. That will postpone things a bit.Sandstorm wrote:Any updates?

I'm thinking of calling admissions tomorrow and asking whether there has been any movement...

Update: According to the woman I spoke with, there have not been any admissions off of the waitlist yet.

Are you waiting to reapply next year or have you put down deposits/first semester tuition elsewhere?
Good luck! I really wanted Cornell, but you seem to want it more and I hope you get it.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Thank you! Yes, I've deposited elsewhere, but I am ready to go at any minute. I do want it badly, but I hope I'm not driving myself insane trying to predict when I'll get an answer! The woman on the phone assured me to not get discouraged, but it is becoming increasingly difficult as the cycle will be coming to a close fairly soon.cinephile wrote:Are you waiting to reapply next year or have you put down deposits/first semester tuition elsewhere?

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Thanks. At this point I'd like to be able to say that I got in (even if off the wait list), but now that I've signed a lease and emotionally commited myself to BU, I don't think I could accept. Oh well, if I really feel the need to live in Ithaca, I can always retire there.gsat wrote:Thank you! Yes, I've deposited elsewhere, but I am ready to go at any minute. Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Orientation starts on the 21st or 22nd of August, classes begin Aug 24th (I have no idea why Cornell wants to ruin our last summers of freedom so early)Perch wrote: When does orientation start? When is tuition due?
I believe tuition is due by the end of the first week of August for most people (esp. those admitted in the regular cycle), so for everyone still on the waitlist, I'm sure there will be movement at the beginning of the 2nd week of Aug. when the admission folks goes down to the Bursar Office and finds out a bunch of unpaid accounts (some people are just too lazy to inform the school of their withdrawal).
Good luck for all those waiting.

There's still a glimmer of hope though, any offers aren't really expected until next week anyway. Surely there can't even be that many still hanging on to compete because of leases and crap.
