I am very very pleased. Booking plane tickets to go visit Austin now! I am envisioning myself debt free by age thirty, law school degree in hand...

Wow! Congratulations! TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN!! I'm so incredibly jealous.

Really? I got a couple of emails encouraging me to apply for match. I have my scholarship info when admitted, but no need awards yet even though I filed FAFSA in Feb.

R6, you still seriously considering Texas?

I filed FAFSA at the beginning of this month, I think. I got subsidized loans but I don't think they have need based aid beyond that, I'm not sure I'd qualify for it if they had it, though.

Where'd you get the info for those of you who have received it? Email? Letter? Website?

I am seriously considering everywhere except Duke and Michigan but that's because they haven't shown any interest to re-consider aid. I truly believe (naive or not) that I will be fine wherever I go, so I am trying to make the best decision for all my other factors - debt, wife, kids, parents, etc...

R6, you should totally go to Texas. After my visit i'm like 90% sure I'm going there so I want to recruit as many from the other T-14 as possible. This school is moving up these rankings.

I just got a call that I got in. Pretty shocked. (Honestly almost forgot about this school because I applied early and was deferred to regular pool). No mention of any money. Does that mean it will be sticker?

Haha I like the strategy. The more of us go, the farther up the ranking it moves!

I need to see aid and send in my matches.

DO IT! After, visiting UT I can say it is truly awesome and I definitely agree with the above posts! :)

LSAT and GPA floors at 168/3.6. If you're under either, you're not getting money. I'm not sure that they necessarily always mention money in the admit call though.

We will be Dean Sager's T14 foot soldiers as we march into the Top 10.

Sager's foot soldiers? I think you mean Dumbledore's Army.

To restate what I said in the ASD thread, UT is just like Hogwarts. Both:
1. Have 4 sections/houses
2. Have a library with a restricted floor/section
3. Are lead by a powerful old wizard

This. Let's march this school into the T10 people! I also think UT did a very smart think cutting class sizes a bit. They went from 420 ->380ish.

I got a financial aid email too, and it also showed all loans...

But when I added it all up, the loans were equal to In-State Tuition minus 10k for the 2011-2012 year, which makes sense (that's the offer I got in the mail: instate tuition + 10k a year).

R6--maybe look at your award on the website and add up the loans. The COA - Loans may = your scholarship.

I don't know if that makes sense.

I already have a scholarship letter, I was hoping to get some grants since Penn and Berkeley are quite generous on that front. I sent my other offers, let's see what shakes.

Speaking of scholarship letters, does anyone know if I can find a copy of mine on the freshlaw website? Or should I get in touch with the financial aid office and ask for an electronic copy?

UT doesn't have grants as of right now to give out to anyone. BUT they are negotiating with the legislature. Also, if you haven't already done so you should submit your other scholarship/financial aid offers to UT through the matching program....
