Congrats! I am in Los Angeles, so if a scholarship, will likely be here by Thanksgiving.

Thanks! You will probably get something soon, they are pretty timely it seems.

If you could drop by UCLA and tell them to give me a call I would appreciate it!

Do you mind giving your general location? I got the acceptance voicemail the same day as you, and I'm a little curious and anxious waiting for my scholly offer to show up in the mail.

As long as you bring to bear in your application the post-law school plans since they look to a younger class. Is your application in?

Got the same. Thrilled.

15k/yr plus nonresident exemption! Excited, but I still have to figure out what all the costs would actually be...

Resident tuition is about $29k + fees so you got about $15k + fees for a 3 year total of $50-55 plus living cost. $100k total? Not so bad and live like a lawyer while you are at it! ;)

Did you look at the budget from a large city school? In CA or NYC? Philly relatively cheap, but my budget for grad school at Penn is $69k year. Law school is probably higher because tuition is higher.

I submitted my application on the night of Friday, October 29. Any predictions on when I'll be hearing back from Texas?

lol my thought when I saw the letter was "$60k for a JD from a top 15 law school ain't that bad." My numbers is in line for $45k at Michigan so that would make that degree cost $100k or more (comparing tuition only). Weighing cost/benefit from mid T14 to lower T14 and T20 schools is going to be hard. That's why it's so hard to turn down a full ride. You still need living expenses, but you can cover that with Stafford loans only, no need for PLUS.

It is time to buy my t-shirt. :-D

Oh, man! So excited!

I'm a Tarheel so I was sad that I'd have to leave my basketball team (disregard the past year... and it looks like this year, too, yikes), but it's okay because I'm about to go to a real football school! With a pretty good basketball team to boot!

Of course that's not why I applied but... still. :-)

hi, would there be any noticeable difference in applying to texas in a month versus now in terms of getting in?

i have an lsat above the 75th, but because my gpa is below median, i did not get a waiver. would it be dumb to wait on the school i'm ED'd to sometime in december to avoid paying 82 bucks or would waiting till mid-december hurt my chances?

oh, please don't quote me people. post will be deleted after some insightful feedback. thanks so much :-)

Hello everybody. I've been in for a month. It seems like a really solid option.

Has anybody gotten a packet in the mail? All I've gotten was a scholarship letter but no folder or viewbook or anything.

I got a package with a general UT brochure with the acceptance letter before the scholarship letter. And then a housing advert later.

All of my housing advert, new faculty booklets, etc. were in the same big packet. Scholarship letter second.

No keychains or thumb drives or anything cool?

Maybe a vacuum packed bbq tenderloin? Isn't that what they're into down there?

They would have sold me had they sent some authentic Texas BBQ to this little midwestern girl lol.

Nah, not even a decal. No coolness. Hoping something cool comes soon.

I'm sold to the school that sends me a shirt! Lol.

I was a little disappointed to be honest. The brochure was probably for UG admits. maybe they can send a pen? lol
