No, not trolling. Seriously, where you saw an "overarching message" I saw an angry woman who made her main characters a bunch of tool rags. Pretty miserable chick.

Is there any chance the discussion of Ayn Rand can be carried on in another thread or on PMs? I have been desperately monitoring this thread for the past 10 days waiting for news of any additional decisions, and everytime it gets bumped I get excited, only to find more discussion about something in which I have no interest. K, I'm done crying now. :D

No worries, thanks guys. They don't seem to be sending out any decisions this week, and my lack of a hold email is making me think that I should expect a straight up ding. I really hope that's not the case, but we'll see.

I noticed they started flat out rejecting people at this time last year (some dings on 11/4 of last year). Are we expecting that at the start of next week?

It could be any day now, but yeah, I think they will probably start sending out rejection letters and making more acceptance calls next monday. Didn't you already get a hold email, brose?

So I got in about a week ago. Got the snail mail package, but still no email. Wanted to see like an admitted students page and whatnot. Did you guys get an email acknowledging acceptance?

No. I got another fee waiver instead. :D I did get the student call though, which was sort of awkward. Waiting for the scholarship letter. Also waiting for them to update Fresh Law website. I guess it's still early!

Just in case anyone's keeping track of such things:

Submitted 10/21, email from UT confirming receipt 10/23, status checker 10/29, accepted 11/3.

How did you receive your acceptance? Snail mail or phone call?

+1 on everything, especially the student-call awkwardness.

Yeah I got the student call and it went like this,

"But I already received the call last week."
"Oh I know, I was just calling to see if you have any questions about the school! I'm a law student here."
"Oh, well, thank you."
"So do you have any questions?"
Long silence, then "No, I don't think so. Not right now at least"
"Okay bye!"

Totally awkward.

lol I asked the student who called me how they liked austin and the school and if she planned on staying in Texas after graduating(she was from Georgia). I wouldnt call it awkward. The only awkward part was realizing what was going on after recognizing the area code. I was expecting it to have something to do with scholarships.

That's pretty much how mine went. I had no question. He went "errrr, is is there any other question you may have".

My student caller was a male, but it was equally awkward.

Him - "We have an admitted student's day in March."
Me - "Oh yeah, what kind of things go on then?"
Him - "You meet faculty and students. There's a bunch of groups. Like if you're married or have kids."
Me - "I am and I do."
Him - "There's a group for that."
Me - "Ok"
Him - "You can call back with any other questions."
Me - "Ok, what was your name again?"
Him - "You probably won't get me. I'm only here one day a week."

Great. Nice talking to you.

Depends on what other offers I get. Its still super early. Lots of schools dont even make scholly decisions until Jan/Feb.

Congrats! I am in Los Angeles, so if a scholarship, will likely be here by Thanksgiving.
