Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Had asked if others had received multiple "Pending review" updates in pretty close succession...glancing back a few pages answered the question for me, so I deleted ithipstermafia wrote:?awahoya wrote:Pending Review 12/13...then updated to 12/15 (it's meant to be a curious face, not a shocked face)...

Congratulations. I envy you for being such a good writer. I hope that UVA will offer you enough scholarship to convince you to come.pixystics wrote:I'm still smiling from this...and laughing at myself. He asked if I had questions and I said yes, but couldn't get anything out lol He was nice enough to recognize that I was in shock. I'm well below their usual stats, but I had strong softs, first gen, WE and PI experience.
Don't mind sharing about my PS. It can't really be copied as it was about my journey towards making the decision to pursue law, but I'd rather not divulge details on the board. PM me for my stats, details on my PS if you really want to know. I don't think it was the subject matter so much as the writing style. I wrote a story, highlighting small details that happened throughout my life that connected the dots leading up to why I decided to pursue public interest law--nothing new. His response to my opening was "wow" and I pretty much kept that writing style throughout and bought it full circle in the conclusion and then finished with a Why UVA/What I will bring to UVA. I also did a background addendum demonstrating how I've overcome challenges and would be able to keep up at UVA Law.
Hope this makes sense... may be a bit vague.

Does it mean anything that it says "first seat deposit" and "second seat deposit" under fees?
Thanks!
Thanks!

No, it doesn't mean anything. The seat deposit set at 0.00 is always there.gbpackerbacker wrote:Yeah, I'm wondering because my others don't.CapHillLove wrote:Mine says that too but I never really noticed. Checking in. Submitted 10/31, Complete 11/1, Pending Review/Decision 11/2.
Pending Review updated to 12/16 today. LSP index at 65%. LSAT just below median, but GPA at 75. OOS, great softs.
Anyone else have a similar update today?

Ugh, my status is still stuck at Pending 11/4. No update yet. I am wondering if my file just fell off their desk and they never found it.forward21 wrote:Checking in. Submitted 10/31, Complete 11/1, Pending Review/Decision 11/2.

That would be amusing..."Well, we were going to waitlist you, but then we realized that we had better uses for our paper. We thought you would figure it out. Cheers!"123xalady wrote:I've heard of instances where people just never hear back.... horrifying.cardinals1989 wrote:Ugh, my status is still stuck at Pending 11/4. No update yet. Have we determined whether a lack of updates is a good thing?

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
I've given up trying to figure out patterns with UVA. Before everyone who was dinged/WL got updates, so it looked good to stay put. But someone who got in yesterday or the day before said they she had a ton of updates before hearing. So I don't see how we can speculate anymore.Dwigt wrote:Have we determined whether a lack of updates is a good thing?
