Youre updating on Sundays? Woah.

This must mean that someone at UVA is a) working too hard, b) really likes coug11, or c) wants to mess with coug11's head.

or d) dislikes coug11 enough to put his/her application in the same pile as mine

11/12 --> 12/1. I really wish this was as clear as Georgetown's update pattern.

Still at 11/10. I still have 16 more schools to hear back from (ouch) but I'm finding myself frustrated with only UVA. Boo. I wanna get updated!

When people say their status date changed.

are we talking about going from one status to another? EX. received -> File Complete, Pending Review/Decision?

Or are we talking that they've been at File Complete, Pending Review/Decision, it's just that their dates have changed from 11/15->12/5->12/7

Mine's stuck at File Complete, Pending Review/Decision since 10/11. What does that mean?

Status stays the same (i.e. at "File Complete, Pending Review/Decision") but the date underneath changes.

Oh, and no one really has a clue what it means. But we do love guessing!!!

Hey guys,

Have any of you gotten a phone call from U.Va? I'm applying RD and my app went complete on 11/8. Stats are 167/4.0 btw. Anyway, i got a phone call this morning from Jason Dugas. I was taking a final, so he left a voicemail, but he just said he wants to visit with me about my application. I know I should just call him back but I want to be prepared for what he could possibly want! haha thanks for any help!

No movement still from 9/13. No idea if that means good or bad.

That's a great sign, probably means your in or at least means that they are seriously considering you.

That's sort of a nerve wracking call to get during a final. I hope you didn't see it until after the test.

I believe everyone that's been asked to call has been accepted. Have you called back yet?

Curious to know if you are in or out of state?

To those of you as uneducated as me, the Wikipedia article on tenterhooks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenterhook):

Wikipedia wrote:Tenterhooks were used as far back as the fourteenth century in the process of making woollen cloth. After the cloth was woven it still contained oil from the fleece and some dirt. A fuller (also called a tucker or walker) cleaned the woollen cloth in a fulling mill, and then had to dry it carefully or the wool would shrink. To prevent this shrinkage, the fuller would place the wet cloth on a large wooden frame, a "tenter", and leave it to dry outside. The lengths of wet cloth were stretched on the tenter (from the Latin "tendere", to stretch) using hooks (nails driven through the wood) all around the perimeter of the frame to which the cloth's edges (selvedges) were fixed so that as it dried the cloth would retain its shape and size. At one time it would have been common in manufacturing areas to see tenter-fields full of these frames.
By the mid-eighteenth century the phrase "on tenterhooks" came into use to mean being in a state of uneasiness, anxiety, or suspense, stretched like the cloth on the tenter.

I've heard the phrase on tenterhooks before. I just understood it to mean we're anxious to hear. Actually knowing where it comes from gives it a whole new color. We are stretched out like wet wool is stretched to retain size and shape.

Got the acceptance call 12/7. I'm out-of-state, RD, was fully expecting waitlist.

Congrats!!!

So judging by the wave of dings/waitlists last week and the couple people who reported phone calls today it definitely looks like they're slowly starting to make their way through these RD apps. Hopefully we all know where we're at with them soon, especially those of us who have been complete forever...
