How long does it usually take to get a status checker or application acknowledgment? I submitted on 11/10 but have not heard anything yet. Just curious if this is normal.

I don't know what to tell you. I submitted 11/17 and got an email on the 18th saying it was received and I went complete that afternoon.

edit: and I want it NOW! File is complete/pending review.

No your GPA is below their median. and your LSAT is just right at it.
I think you will be accepted

...except look at how many people in my number range they waitlisted last year:

I think you're in danger of YP because your numbers are competitive for CCN and you're OOS.

Submitted 11/15 or thereabouts, and got an email the next day. It might be worth dropping the admissions office a line to make sure nothing got messed up.

a 170 is not a "YP" score for any of the T14 at all, even with a 4.0.

YP is about more than numbers. Since 170 is competitive at many other T14, it could play into YP reasoning.

Not when 170 is your median. And it isnt exactly "competitive" i mean chances at HYS with a 170 is almost 0 without a 4.0. It doesnt even give you a leg up with CCN. With a 170 you are USUALLY looking in the MVPB range

What I was referring to that Yield Protection is to protect yield for whatever reason, not just numbers. If you are from Richmond, went to UVA for UG and grad school, have a 170 and can be competitive at UVA, then Duke is going to YP you if you don't show at all why you would attend Duke instead.

I wasn't trying to imply that having is 170 is sufficient for YP, only that 170 is high enough to play into YP decisions because you can also gt into peer schools (especially with a 4.0 like what I quoted).

Doesn't bode well for this out of state URM then....I was waitlisted last time all the way up until the week before classes started. Talked to Dean Faulk about it this year before applying...sigh

Why did you decide not to go to Michigan?

Long story, personal in nature. Nothing against the school though. Dean Zearfoss was wonderful and I fell in love with the school. Amazing the difference a year and half makes because I'm not even applying this go 'round.

I'm from Ohio. I think I want to go south.

Good luck this time around. I wouldn't worry too much about the existing URM acceptances, they were people who were in line for big $$$ and received half/full-tuition scholarships IIRC.

Thanks! Appreciate it.
