Re: UVa. Regular Decision
It seems like there is a group of us whose dates never change and group whose dates change frequently. Even after an LOCI and a few back and forth e-mails, my pending date is still unchanged.
I don't know that this means much in the grand scheme of things since those with unchanging dates have also been admitted.

blah me as well. I'm predicting WL or rejection - since their graph does conform to the "must meet one median" standard noted earlier.akili wrote:Sup twin. Someone's probably said this already, but I don't think WL will be the dead end it has been for the last few years.Entchen wrote:FTFY.msridiculous447 wrote:I'm predicting a WL formyselfeveryone.

super random grasping at straws question: on the online status check, under 'fees', it has always had the application fee AND seat deposits 1 and 2, right?

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Through January, total app volume for all law schools was down 12.5%. We could be an exception, but I think admissions was budgeting its acceptances for another increase in volume, maybe even another double digit increase. If that's the case, I think this may be the year that we finally need to dip into the WL (of course, if the yield spikes or something like that, all bets are off).akili wrote:Why do you think so? Short version: I think admissions is receiving fewer apps than anticipated.

This seems pretty reasonable. My friend got a fee waiver to UVa in January (she took the October LSAT) with a 168. Seems like they're probably not getting the volume of applicants that they expected.soullesswonder wrote:

Well, even having a very personal and heartfelt recommendation from Charlottesville's state delegate didn't save me from my WL fate. I have more WLs than anything else right now. If one of these schools ever actually accepts me, I will eat my hat. Not figuratively. I will actually cook and eat one (1) hat while the denizens of TLS look on.

I wouldn't read much into that. They handed out thousands of fee waivers. As long as they don't mind the admin cost of processing those applications, it helps their ranking by increasing their selectivity.msridiculous447 wrote: This seems pretty reasonable. Acceptance rate might only make up a tiny portion of the US News rankings, but it is one portion schools can easily change their score, simply by encouraging applications from candidates that have below median numbers.

Hm it seems I totally missed and cant find the email giving me a login. i have a password though. Is there a formula for the login name? USC and UCB have the same logins for me but it didn't work for UVA. I emailed admissions, waiting to hear back.
